I didn't want to remove them either. Just paint them while they are still on. Takes ten minutes to make sure you've got them isolated.

It will take me ten minutes to get down on the ground and another 30 to get back up. I think I’ll have a friend assist with the removal. I would be interested in finding out what brand/color you used. Horse n Buggy too. I know Kris had hers done by the paint shop when her bumper was off for her light install.

I'd genuinely consider calling around to a few body shops to see if they'll do it for you. I paid $50 for them to paint mine, I'm sure removal wouldn't have been much more. Yeah, they look good, but not at the cost of potentially hurting yourself.

I wouldn’t hurt myself and it might not take as long as I estimated. I’m still adjusting to a weight loss and aging. If I can find someone, I prefer that option. ?

Whatd that end up running you and did you have a shop do it? I need to eventually put a bike rack on it.
It ended up costing $300 all in….$180 for the hitch from Summit Racing and $120 for the install. No wiring harness since I also just wanted it for a bike rack and basket. What bike rack you have in mind? I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out which one to get.

also just added some low profile crossbars from Amazon, Curt hitch cover, and lock.

I'm not usually a fan of white letter tires because they are a PITA to keep clean. That wheel and tire combo you are running though looks amazing. Very sharp.

It depends on your needs. How many bikes? Do you need access to the liftgate when the rack is installed? How high can you lift your bike? Do you need locks?

There are probably more questions you need to answer, but once you have a list you can start narrowing down your choices.

thanks, I have always liked the white letters myself, but they really are difficult to keep clean. I actually regretted my decision for a little while but, after a good scrub, that faded.

I have narrowed it down slightly… but they all seem to be very expensive. Particularly a platform style, 2 bike, and tilting feature isn’t necessary but would be nice. Not to mention, I am only 5’1” so I can’t lift the bikes too high. Also, I am trying to find one that won’t touch the frame, but that seems to put it in a higher level price range.
Apologies for taking this off subject, but if anyone has one with similar specs that is $300 or under and are happy with it, I would love to hear about it.
Thanks!

This rack is well reviewed at Amazon. It holds two bikes, can tilt to allow access to the liftgate, and includes locks to prevent theft. You mentioned a concern with touching the frame. I'm not sure why that would be an issue as long as the locking bar is padded. But if that is a concern you can purchase a separate adapter bar that clamps to the seat post and the handlebar riser.

New Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse AT's 245/65/17. What a difference from the stock Conti's. Just the right amount of aggressiveness. Like the extra width over the 225's. Tire guy thought they were gonna rub. Told him no, I've done my homework. No rub but they fill the wheel well nicely. Very happy how they look and ride. They filled them to 33 psi but I like to run a little higher. Around 35-36 psi.
