So I followed the directions and everything shows to have updated just fine, but I cannot find the xml file to upload to ford. It’s no where in the SyncMyRide folder…

should I worry or do this all over again?

After the update is complete using the USB flash drive, connect your vehicle to your Wi-Fi network and check for updates to Sync.

This will update your Sync version with Ford.

Thank you everyone for your help and input. My computer skills are clearly lacking (I'm 79). I finally figured out you have to extract files to de-compress them. Once I did this the new sync downloaded in ten minutes. Thanks again for all the help!
It's never too late to find out you're an old dog who can learn new tricks. ?

Thanks! I was able to update it, too. My laptop now shows 23188 is current SYNC.

Still wondering why my map update won't start. Something for another day. Tired of going from my laptop to the vehicle today. ?
oh that stinks! I don’t have Navi (huge regret for not getting that package with my BB).

We accidentally didn't get NAV when we ordered my wife's BS BL. She uses Google maps with Android Auto instead. Like it so much that I bought a wireless dongle for my Escape. It's what I use now.

I'm just updating the Ford maps to have them.

I don't think we'll ever order NAV again if it's an add-on option.

Install went fine but no xml file. Using a Mac, could this be platform dependent?

I do the same w/ Apple Maps with CarPlay + wireless dongle… Only thing is I use my SiriusXM a lot more than Apple Music, so to me it’s much easier with Nav..

You folks just helped me update the sync on my '23 OBX. Now I need to pick your brains about my wife's Ecosport. It currently has Sync version 3.4 21194. The updated version is 3.4 22200. I downloaded the new file to my computer. Then I unzipped it and put it on a USB. It downloads part way in the vehicle, then I get error code VER-ERR08. Does anyone know how to fix this? I am a member of the Eurosport forum but never get any feedback from them folks!

The correct version for your EcoSport should be 3.4.23188

You will need to use the same link at the beginning of this thread to get the correct files from Ford.

I just uploaded 3.4.23188 to my '23 OBX. According to the MY Ford site the update for the Ecosport is 3.4.22200. Will the new Bronco Sport update work in the Ecosport. I have a USB with 3.4.23188. Can I upload that to the Ecosport with no ramifications?

Clear the cache and history from your browser and use the link at the beginning of this thread to check for Sync updates.

You will need to do a soft reset on your vehicle.

Start the vehicle

Press and hold the volume seek/forward buttons at the same time for 2 minutes. The screen will go dark and restart many times.

Let the screen come back to life.

You need to check the Instructions. You do not unzip the download. After downloading the file, right click on the folder and open with-Windows Explorer. A new window will open revealing the 3 items. Copy those three items to you exFAT format

Perform the update.

Does anyone know what’s included in this update?! I’m wondering if it’s worth my time or not - I mostly just use the head unit to connect to CarPlay through a dongle…

I don't know what features have been changed, but I got my APIM replaced not because of the default issue but because my car kept throwing bogus error codes. I have heard that the rwdata should be managed better, noticed a call icon when calling others. Other than that, it is primarily bug fixes. It's not a significant change in features but mostly fixes.
