So I just found out that my brand new BS Badlands with premium package and basically every option available does NOT have built in navigation/map with the touch screen (because of chip shortgage), and according to my dealer was built in a way that even when they finally have the chips available they can NOT update the system...so my car will never have built in navigation...are you f-ing kidding me???
Apparently when I ordered mine earlier this year, they did not have the chips, and so took the ford co-pilot360 assist off the website as an option, but left the ford co-pilot360 terminology as included in my base build...which I assumed must be the map/navigation. This is unbelievable and as frustrating as could be...and worse yet strikes me as one of the dumbest decisions a car co could make. Fine you have a chip shortage, BUT design and build your touchscreen system in a way that you can add navigation once the chips are available in the future

Fortunately, there is a fairly decent work-around called the Carlink Wireless CarPlay Adaptor....which links your iphone or Android carplay apps via the USB port. Your phone apps will appear on the screen. It works well. Available on Amazon for $95.

I guess I’m not sure what built in navigation means. Is that just maps when a phone isn’t plugged in? I have all the other stuff like the auto breaking/accelerating in cruise control and the lane assist.
Yes, no phone required navigation including a map.

I don't miss that much you can plug your phone in and use waze and get alot of other apps. Google maps. Spotify The only thing I was disappointed in was no sirious xm and Ford said they can't addon it for me. The sirious app I can get but it's no where near as good as the radio. But I expected this to happen with a base model .

The Co-pilot360+/assist+ package does have several useful features -- these are not included in "Co-pilot360" nor the Badlands package (2021), but was a separate $795 option. Note though, that over time and in many contexts Ford's NAMING of the package and features have been all over the place:
* Intelligent adaptive cruise control w/speed sign recognition
* Navigation
* Evasive steering
* Lane centering
* ...and whatever else I'm forgetting at the moment

The Maverick does not offer navigation at all. I'm rather fond of built-in nav so I got a APIM module off eBay with nav and did a swap, now I have a Maverick with nav, you could do the same for the BS.

You can get the oem nav setup. It’s plug in. But is like a grand and have to rip the dash/center apart

If you check the Maverick, Bronco or F150 forums you can find threads. Basically you need to find a Ford Sync 3 Gen 4 with Navigation APIM 3.4, found mine on eBay. If you have Forscan you can program your VIN number yourself or most vendors that sell the APIM will program it for you, must match your VIN. Then it's just plug and play, pull the old APIM out and plug in the new one.

Nice. Where is the APIM located?

Google maps works pretty good. Just download offline maps and no need to be online. Also stand alone GPS units are good and not expensive. I use my phone to start my ford and to navigate. Save some money by not adding rimy start and navigation.

I have a First Edition and it didn't come with it either. I was completely floored when I pulled off the lot and realized it. So I got the dongle (Motorola MA1) for Android Auto and that works well enough and solved the problem.
