I bought a brand new 2022 Outer Banks Bronco Sport only a month ago, and I’m already seeing noticeable wear on the front seat. It’s only been a month and car only has 700 miles, but the leather seat is already starting to wrinkle/crease. Has anyone else notice this happening? Am I being hypercritical, or is this something I should mention to the dealership? I get that this will happen over time, but after only 1 month seems odd to me. See attached photo.

In my opinion I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s a seat. As long as it’s not tearing it’s good to go. Some more info could help. How tall are you and how much do you weigh? Are you right handed and sitting on a huge wallet? There are many factors that could be playing into this.

My BL leather has that but very slightly. A bit less than yours. I'd say that's common from getting in and out of your car. Use a good leather conditioner every few weeks and call it a day. I use Chemical Guys leather conditioner every so often and it works well. Though, I'm not sure how well it would work in your 22 OB since they switched from a perforated leather t0 a solid piece ...another bright idea from Ford.

Natural "leather" is already wrinkled, I don't see a problem here. I like that smooth finish v. the perf'ed in my BL though -- the little holes catch whatever little bits you get on there, then you have to vacuum out.

Bought mine used w/ 3k miles, have had for two months and have 10k miles now... it's from getting in and out. I'm ordering a seat cover and will do the interior warranty before it expires.

I test drove a new OB with the smooth Navy Pier leather. It had a lot more wrinkles than this. I believe the perforated leather seats would not show the wrinkles because the holes would relieve the stress put on the leather.

My new OB has 105km on it. This is the drivers seat. I think I possibly only noticed the wrinkle as I’d seen the title of this thread earlier

Nope, my perforated Navy Pier seats are wrinkled, and one spot actually started to separate crappy leather paint. All paint sucks in this vehicle, must be eco friendly kind...

Here’s my brand new 2023 drivers seat at 700 miles. I do not carry a billfold in my back pocket.

As others have mentioned, you will get wrinkles.

Best to condition the leather periodically by using a non alcohol based leather conditioner. I'd steer clear of amour all, as it has alcohol in it, and this will dry out the natural oils in good leather.

I have owned three different vehicles with heated leather seats, #1 used (1999), #2 brand new (2003) and drove it until it rusted out underneath at 115K miles, then #3 brand new (2012, still own it). Not a single wrinkle in ANY of the heated leather seats in any of those 3 vehicles even when I had kids in the back. This is all about expectations I guess but to me it's just an example of low quality and to me it is disappointing. Believe me I am a Ford fan all the way but to me these wrinkles are unacceptable in the first 700 miles and remind me of the first time I tried to reupholster a chair using hog rings - looked great at first glance then after I sat down and got back up it was wrinkly. Ford needs to make it right - get some Botox and get these wrinkles out, LOL!
