If you buy the extended warranty, you should be fine with the first year vehicle. Remember you can negotiate the price of the warranty. After being burned several times, I always buy it now. I sell my vehicles before I get to 100k miles so the extra $1000 or so is worth it to me to have coverage the entire time I have the vehicle.

Here's a "POV" YouTube review of a Big Bend with the tow package. Nice to see reviews of the lower trims, especially since many people (myself included) are still skeptical of the 1.5 L Dragon engine.

Notes:

* Pretty much every reviewer comments on the generous head room.
* I didn't spot any crappy, dust- and fingerprint-prone piano black plastic in the interior. Looked pretty 'rugged'/easy-to-clean.
* Reviewer commented that the ride feels stiff (mentioned 3-4 times).
* I heard a lot of road noise starting around 40 mph, but this is something I'll have to gauge in-person.
* Nice view over the hood.
* Reviewer commented that the steering wheel feels 'cheap.'

I was actually impressed by the ride on the video. I'd rather have a slightly stiff suspension for a new vehicle as it's only going to loosen up over time. It's also been proven that the stiffer suspensions generally offer better high speed driving / cornering, etc., like the Tacoma Pro 4x4 vs. the regular edition. I'm sure the Badlands will be even more exciting.

The 1.5 sounded good and I'm betting the Badlands 2.0 will growl even more. Still need to get a road racer in the seat and do some aggressive driving to see how the cornering and heavy breaking rate. So far, so good.

Good summary of the video. I think the steering wheel feel buffs itself out. If you actually get the BB package it replaces it with leather wrapped steering wheel. Strange though that ford didn’t just make that standard.

Microphones tend to exaggerate ambient noise, so it is hard to gauge road noise from an omnidirectional microphone.

My review from my first drive of 24 miles.
Bronco Sport 1.5L
Smooth engine with ample power for my needs, No noticeable turbo lag.
Well managed transmission operation. Climbs steady and smooth in several gears, tested at speeds from 40 to 70 mph up long 7% grades.
Tight turning radius, great tracking, (Does not wander)
Engine stop/start is smooth and functional but I just don't like it. As I am not in heavy stop and go traffic I will not use it.
Brakes feel strong and responsive.
Overall ride is nice and compliant.

My only off road time was up a steep (13% grade) loose gravel and clay road not using any manual settings. I stopped and restarted with no problems and no slippage.
This Is a must for me as I live UP a ways, I have a view.

The cockpit, displays, gages, controls are all in the right places and work just fine, This is my fifth Ford so I do have the advantage of familiarity.
The seats are very very comfortable IMHO.
I am 5'11" and with the driver seat set for me I can get in the back seat with adequate leg room.
Ample head room, easy Ingress and egress, as I don't bump into things.
Good visibility, good mirrors.
For a $28,000 AWD/4x4 I am very Impressed and I bet the MSRP will go up at least 10% by 2022

I looked at a Wrangler 4x4, I will not pay that kind of money for a name plate that a different company owns and yet another company makes the engine. Way WAY over priced, But at least they perform.

I looked at the Renegade Trail Hawk, 30K gets a tiny cabin, buzzy Inefficient slow engine and a really bad transmission that fights the engine.

I looked at a 4 cylinder AWD Hyundai, Not even worth considering.

I looked at a Toyota Rav4, way over priced.

I can bet that I will like this Bronco sport more and more as I gain saddle time.
I live In the Appalachian mountains so for me and my needs This Bronco Sport gets a
solid five Stars. :p

Thanks for the review, I'm going to test drive a BB trim with the 1.5 L next week. The engine is my biggest hesitation, e.g., accelerating on freeways, passing at 75 mph, etc.

RAV4 Adventure is in the running but not enough roof height in the driver's seat.

We went from a Trailhawk compass to a dealer lifted/level kit BS. The motor and trans is way better then the Trailhawk. The BS handles better in the twisties. I love the twisties and live in the back country. The Trailhawk feels anemic in comparison. We have more room in the BS then the Jeep. Now we bought the Big bend with the big bend package. This has the heated seats. They work well. The lift/level kit being dealer installed keeps the warranty intact. It is taller to get in. You notice the height difference but it is not hard to get in. I have a Gladiator that is slightly lifted and it takes more work to get in. We do love this vehicle.

@294 miles, mpg average is now 25.7
I'm climbing hills, no heavy city traffic, speeds under 70
I suspect a bit more once broken In.
I have not found a single thing I don't like. Have had plenty of time to look at the other
models option lists. I'm good.

I want rubber floor matts,
Mud flaps,
and a rubber back deck over the spare tire, nothing more :p
