    Storm Chasing Bronco Sport Interceptor

Chase build update. So I was able to look over a Ford Bronco Sport today. Although it's a fantastic vehicle, inside and out, it's just too small for our purposes. Between two individual's luggage, medical bags and camera gear, there is not enough room. This was apparent when I opened the back...

    Storm Chasing Bronco Sport Interceptor

I've given up on worrying about gas prices. With the CVOID recovery over the next 2-3+ years, raising gas prices would destroy the economy, and truckers have promised to "shut down the economy" by going on strike and blocking highways, like they did in Paris. Having said that, it's great we are...

    Badlands Test Drive

The **potential** steering issue has been brought up by multiple sources, including several reviewers. Need someone with long distance or professional driving experience to chime in and deny or confirm.

    Storm Chasing Bronco Sport Interceptor

Trying to get hold of Ford is like trying to get in touch with the Pope. I'm sure commercial vehicles, like the Ford Explorer Police Interceptor, do not have the feature. The Frontier will be my go to vehicle if the BS auto-start cannot be defeated. So far, the 2020 Frontier does not have the...

    Storm Chasing Bronco Sport Interceptor

Have not driven a Ford with the auto (idle) stop technology. Here are issues with the system. 1: Although slight, there is always the possibility the vehicle will not restart. There have been serious and fatal accidents where auto-stop technology was the cause. Either the vehicle did not...

It might be a computer screen, not a mechanical unit.

    Storm Chasing Bronco Sport Interceptor

I considered that, or maybe a laser to burn it out. You think they would have made it a "non-warning " color like gray (as Ford does) or even green. I've been following the Ridgeline discussion groups and people hate the light (and overall system) with a passion. Maybe the 2021 will be...

    Bronco Sport Overheating when Offroad?

The Ridgeline appears to be nixed on my list. It has the dreaded engine-auto-off cancer than cannot be cured. Although the "off" push button can be overridden by a third party "eliminator," the engineers at Honda decided to add a very bright, distracting yellow warning light on the dash anytime...

Area 51 Badlands with the Badlands pkg delivered!

So we have confirmed the auto-start-stop is off in sport mode and there is no annoying icon. This is another positive BS confirmation. (Thank you Ford). I read in the manual that even when the Auto-Start is on, it's a "grey" icon on the dash board. I can live with that. As a pilot, any yellow or...

Area 51 Badlands with the Badlands pkg delivered!

When in sport mode and the auto start is disabled, is there an annoying red or yellow light on the dash or elsewhere that provides an irritating "auto-off" notice lamp / icon? I nixed another vehicle (Honda Ridgeline) because when the auto-start was disabled (by push button or by third party...

    Bronco Sport Overheating when Offroad?

Excellent review. As noted, the overheating seems to be a "natural" result of over-badassing and not overheating from normal use. This is good to know. I still don't mind the interior; when chasing, the interior is often covered in dust, so the less "fancy" the better as long as it's functional...

Tire Options for Bronco Sport with 1" Lift

That lift and large tires make this vehicle. It takes it from "cute" to "worthy."

    Bronco Sport Overheating when Offroad?

No, they may be working with me on the new (2021) Ridgeline. Either the Type-R or the Blacked out edition. They won't say there is a "Type-R" (and likely not) but it's my preference. The 2021 has the new front end design, that looks a lot more intimidating. It's a top pick with Car and Driver...

    Bronco Sport Overheating when Offroad?

I agree. There is too much sadness and stress in the world right now so we don't need to be fighting here. The Bronco Sport is a wonderful vehicle and so far, the people who have received them are very happy. I have yet to hear of a single new owner regret their purchase. At the same time...

    Safety

The lack of safety testing is a problem, at least for me. Hopefully it will be released before I take delivery in February or I might decline.

    Auto Stop Eliminator

It's very hard on the engine / parts and causes a slight hesitation when starting from a stop, which I personally find dangerous. It saves little gas, as research has shown people tend to accelerate harder after the restart (maybe to test they have power) so it negates any benefit. Bad driving...
