What did you do TO your Bronco Sport today?

I think you are going to have a rubbing issue with that big of a spacer and the K02. Moving the wheel/tire out like that puts it closer to the pinch weld (which is the rubbing problem for the BS) when the wheel is turned and the suspension is compressed somewhat.

Also wanted to make note of that photo what size tires are those? And is that BS in that photo under some.load to compress the suspension? I checked mine last night and my tires are nowhere even near sitting that close to that weld area.

Those were pictures I took while putting the lift on. I took the opportunity to remove the spring from the strut and then just raise/lower the suspension and turn the wheels to observe.

The pinch weld has been trimmed by some people. This is not recommended by most because the body is integral to the structure, unlike traditional body on frame trucks. A modification to the unibody will have unknown affects on the strength and/or crash protection of the vehicle.

The tire in the picture is a 245/70/16, which is the same size as a 245/65/17 or 245/60/18. These are actually a little smaller that expected when measured, coming in at 29" diameter (29.5" is the spec). At the time I took the picture, I don't believe I had installed the 1" spacer yet. That spacer makes the clearance to the pinch weld even tighter.

Adding a lift does not appreciably change the clearance to the pinch weld. If it was possible to lift it by a much larger amount, it could help with clearance. Because the rub happens at the bottom/back of the wheel well when the suspension is compressed some and the wheel is turned, there isn't a lot that can be done to get more clearance.

There are a lot of people that would love to get larger tires and increase the offset. With the BS there is a fine line that is easy to cross where problems start to arise. There are some more extreme ways to achieve this but they come with their own issues. The 4 wheel independent suspension is really the major limiting factor when it comes to lifting. The half shafts have a limited range of motion in which they can operate reliably. They are also a weak point when it comes to extreme loads. You will never see an aggressive off-road machine that has independent suspension, they all have solid axles.

makes sense, thanks for the write up. If the 1.5 are aboslute no go I guess I will give the 1.25 a shot and if that is still an issue with rubbing we'll just do a 1in untill I am ready to do some wheels with a different offset.

On 245’s, the 20mm (.79”) are said to work. I’d be hopeful for the 1” (and possibly the 1.25”)

Nice Kent. I put a window sticker in my previous Sports that were Area 51 but I can’t decide if it would look right with the Yellowstone and white roof.

I may install it just to see if it makes that much of a difference. I do prefer the Aeroskin II over the regular Aeroskin. Worse thing I'll have to do is remove it if it's too much.

Changed my tow hooks from red to orange. This spray paint was posted in a Facebook group. It closely matches the Badlands badge. It’s pretty indistinguishable and looks great.

Now that I have my nudge bar installed, I want to show off that there are tow hooks still there. I was thinking red at first, but now leaning toward the yellow that matches the BadLands color. Do you still like that?

2 night camping trip in Carrizo Plain. They got some heavy rains a while back which mucked up the roads, but thankfully everything is mostly dried out now. I always thought sidewall treads were purely aesthetic, but looks like it did some gripping!
