I don’t know why tire shops refuse to line up the balance mark on the tire with the valve stem and then pile on 15 wheel weights.

It looks like they aligned the yellow dot with the valve stem on the spare, but not on the left front. I wonder if the spare was an accident, or the other way around?

EDIT: Just saw this post: Seems Discount Tire knows how to do it!

Unfortunately for me, my local Discount Tire basically gives me a line about the wheels being more out of balance. I really like @Discount Tire but this really irks me because I hate seeing multiple rows of wheel weights and also seeing that the balance mark is not aligned with the valve stem. Then when I show them the one wheel that “accidentally” is aligned and only needed 1 or 2 weights, they still give the excuse.

BTW, I suspect that in the OP’s pictures, the one tire that is aligned properly is coincidental.

How does the tire valve stem intended to relate to yellow, red and orange dots (if provided) on a tire? If you don’t know here is a synopsis on the topic:

Most tire manufacturers will place a yellow dot on the section of the tire where there is least weight. When fitting a tire to the wheel, line up this yellow dot with the valve stem as this is the heaviest point of the wheel. Continue reading below…

By aligning the lightest spot on the tire with the heaviest point on the wheel, the tire/wheel balance is as close to optimal as can be. So, you won’t use as many weights around the wheel to balance out the tire and wheel. Fewer weights make for a more balanced wheel, which then means a quieter, more comfortable ride, and a longer-lasting tire.

Tires have high and low points which occur where the belts are joined, and these points can cause vibrations when a tire is rolling. The red dot indicates the tire’s high point. Most of the time a wheel will also have a dot—either a drilled dot or a sticker to indicate its low point; if you have these marks, you should align the red dot on the tire with the mark on the wheel and ignore the yellow dot. By doing this you minimize the vibration caused by the high point of the tire. Continue reading below…

If both red and yellow dots are visible on the tire and if there are no dots or marks on the wheel, red takes precedence over yellow and you should align the red dot with the valve stem. Cancelling out the high point takes precedence over the lightest point of the tire, which can be addressed with wheel weights.

Not my info, was abstracted from this link:
https://www.tyrebaydirect.com/knowledge-base/tyres-explained-red-dot-vs-yellow-dot/

Info probably is on Discount Tire’s website but I didn’t check.

Just came back from the dealer getting "The Works Package".
The bonus is when your FordPass points cover the cost.

Did you push them on with the concave or convex side facing forward?
