Wanted to run something by you all. Another dealer I talked to says I can put down a deposit on incoming vehicle ordered for someone else. If, and that's a big if, they back out then I can have it. Deposit is refundable. Now here's the kicker - dealer asked for my SSN. ? I said no thanks. They say it's their corporate policy (AutoNation chain) and wont budge.

I have never heard dealers insisting on SSN that early before purchase is agreed on. About the only thing I can think of is that they wanna run my credit, which they claim they aren't gonna do. My currently order required no SSN.

So, I'm not sure if what they're asking for is legit or not. I'd appreciate some advice. Thanks.

taking a deposit on someone else’s special order is sketchy enough but requiring your SSN in addition is a new level of low even for car dealers. I’d run in the other direction

Agreed on the ssn issue. Heck my dealer wouldn't even provide my email to Ford. Said it's none of their business. If you are seriously searching keep searching for sports daily. Expand your reach they will pop up. Yeah there were holds on new builds but the stuff hitting lots was built a month ago...Just saw my first full bronco in our town today getting washed up after what appeared to be a lot of fun. Covered head to tail lights in mud...rapid red, looked amazing.

Ordered Feb 10 went to production June 3 “completed” June 11 ETA July 24-30 transit 20…. No ship date yet….ETIS shows still waiting on the RCM….window sticker changes to today’s date if that means anything ??‍

That's how I felt about SSN check too but thought may be things have changed since my purchasing the last car years back. Thanks for confirming it for me.

I am flipping out right now! A dealer not far from here has my first choice Bronco Sport (badlands, badlands package, cyber orange) on order and is coming soon! Markup was only $4,000 making the total be $40,000. I am hoping they are getting it soon!

Anyone else order as early as 3/13 or earlier with a build date in September? This is insane. 6 months just to go into production. My current vehicle will have no resell value at that time. A 9/13 production date makes me feel like this should be a 2022. My price should 1- be honored, and 2- be discounted. Frustrated to say the least. Do I call the marketing team?

I placed my order on 3/13 and its been in production since 6/22. Now I have an ETA date of 10/31. I would hold out for a 22 if I knew it would arrive by the end of the year but we can probably assume that the 22 orders won’t come for at least 6 months after ordering opens in September. I already extended the lease on my Edge once and it ends in 11 days. I am going to the dealership tomorrow to see what my options are for either buying out my Edge and selling it back when the BS arrives or maybe doing a 6 month lease on something else until then.

Highly unlikely you can grab a big Bronco but some times luck happens. Stories over on facebook, even recent stories, ppl got lucky grabbed a BL with BL Package cause ppl special order did not show up. Most recent one guy snagged Rapid Red BL BL Package steelies it was special order he said ppl could not get loan. He said he paid 40k I think he did pretty good. I dont think he realizes how lucky he is cause very low chances of that happening.

Back in early May I saw this awesome BL+BL in Area 51 with "steelies", 360+ and just about every other option that was a canceled ordered. I was drooling over it pretty good lol but $39k is quite a bit out of my range atm but man it was beautiful. Needless to say it wasn't there long.

If you are willing and wanting, have them tag it ...you may have a shot. That's how my deal came together. All the people here were awesome explaining how it worked and boom...it happened.

I posted a video on the issues with how stuff got so backed up. Based on broncos ford is honoring price lock. I'd say it's worth communication to the dealership management and then Ford to ensure you get what you want.

Found a really nice Area 51 OB+OB no moonroof with 360+ not too far from me. Special order that wasn't taken. Might look into it this week. According to the build tracker it was ordered the last week of April and built on 6/3. Seems really quick for an OB especially with the OB package.

I've been looking around for Area 51 or Cactus OBs with 360 as an alternative to my BB+BB. The OB was my preference until I found out that BB+BB was ordered for me but I'm still looking a bit to see if any OBs with 360 pop up.

We ordered 10/1 and now have a delivery date and just went into production this month with a 10/32 delivery date. We’ll be waiting a year for the car and we can’t get a straight answer from our dealer if they’ll honor the pricing from October when we ordered. BL+BL with 360+ and tow package

If you have a contract in writing with the price they have to honor it. If they don’t I’d report them to Ford, the BBB and possibly the state as its probably illegal for them to do that.
