I just got off the phone with Ford Customer Service (the number that @thekingprawn gave) and they had my email wrong. That is now corrected. They also said that the Tow Package is a hold up right now. He said that removing the Tow Package could make delivery faster and that it could be added later. It is something I really want for a bike rack and maybe at some point actually pulling a trailer. He said that they are only able to fill about 35% of orders with the Tow Package at this point, because of some chip shortage issue. I guess that has something to do with the ā€œsway controlā€?
There are threads of people having no issues adding aftermarket tow & factory tow after the fact. I just found it easier, especially if you know you’ll need it, to add it in at time of order.

I agree. I went into my dealer and was going to buy off the lot and the dealer lead to me to do the build. Ultimately, I'm happy with the decision and glad I'll have what I want. I just got confirmation on 2/24 for an OB with just Assist+ added on so, not a huge shock that there is no production scheduled yet. But, the unknown is the hardest. I'm assuming the dealers are as frustrated with the process as we are. It's all in Ford's hands now..
My dealer certainly is. I know they’re sick of hearing from me and I’m NOT a high contact customer. I check in once a month at most.

I was advised the tow package was part of our delay…but I’d rather have it from the factory for sway control etc…

Just called my dealer. They say my base BL is "Unscheduled Clean" meaning that there aren't any options holding it up, but it hasn't been scheduled yet. They put in the order on Feb 2, so I'm guessing after today that the earliest build date is in June. So, not holding my breath.

My current lease is up in September so if my car doesn’t come by then I’m screwed. I thought 9 months would be ideal but I guess it’s looking like a no.

sorry I’m being so pessimistic. It’s just a frustrating process.

Still nothing for my loaded BL build from early December. Hoping maybe I just didn’t get the email? Though, I’ve been getting the other emails.

It’s going to be fun to finally get it as the ā€˜23 is announced

I have been wondering, if the vehicle isn’t delivered until September (or later), is it still a ā€˜22?

I put in an order on 2/22 at my local dealership. Badlands 360+/tow package/CMS/Premium and got a build date today of 5/23. Smaller dealership too. The larger multi location dealership in my town placed an order for me the same day even though I told them I wasn’t buying from them. Same specs plus moonroof. No build date yet.

I bought a Badlands off a lot last week. Might still take the other one for my wife. We love the BS.

Did you sign a build order and provide a copy of your DL with the second dealer? If not, Ford won't schedule that order.

They have my DL because I test drove a BS there because the dealership I ordered from didn’t have one to drive.

Hope the Gladiator is working out well for you! Jeep does really put out a nice product with the Wrangler & Gladiator. I actually think they’d have a more formidable competitor too if they’d focus on one entry in the segment, instead it looks to me like they split their efforts between the Cherokee & Compass. Or maybe it’s just me who doesn’t understand the difference between them.
I agree. Not sure why they did the split. A focused effort would make better competition. Custom hood decal coming next week. Should look good. It is Sarge Green. We will see how well the engine performs over time since they did not go with a turbo version. Cant wait to see what 2023 brings for the BS!

Wow! Seriously? Yours drop into the December black hold also, huh? Someone I read who working in moving cars onto rails said that sometimes they get moved somewhere in the back when trying to get another car out and then it gets lost as a result

Nice color choice! Heh I was half wondering now that I’ve waited this long for my 22, they’ll probably add stuff for 23 that I want lol.

I mean I know Ford fields 2 entries in the segment with the BS & Escape both (not to mention the Corsair). But they seem differentiated enough to me to understand their respective missions. I had a really tough time armchair shopping the Cherokee/compass to know which one might be the right alternative to look at.

I'm the guy who peppered him with BS questions during the Q&A. I think he may be a little off on 360+ being that much of a constraint since my dealership has 6 lot lizards coming with it and I got scheduled in 2 weeks with it. For those with multiple constraint items I fear that the system looks for all items available in order to schedule, so it may be a different item every week preventing scheduling. Every item takes its turn knee capping a build in a continual rotation. I'm really glad there was nothing in the premium package I couldn't live without.
I might have to watch again now. Near the end he went over a long list of allocations coming his way. He mentioned some 3 digit codes next to some of the Badlands.

I put $500 down to reserve two allocations on two Bronco Sports at two Ford dealers.
According to the VVR's,
  • First one (Outer Banks) has been sitting in KC awaiting a truck since Feb 28 ("Delay Convoy Carrier").
  • Second one (Badlands) was on "Ramp 54" in Mexico Feb 23 ("Origin Received").
I am going nuts.
