I’m fairly certain cylinder deactivation is only used in Eco mode. And yes, at 70 mph it will deactivate a cylinder, assuming you remain at a steady speed. This is usually most noticeable when using adaptive cruise.
Apparently deactivation happens when coasting or driving at a steady speed not under load. i would think this will work in normal mode as well. I was driving with a strong tailwind down the highway for over an hour at 60 mph and it showed I was getting close to 45 mpg !!! so I'm sure it was on !

I really don’t think deactivation occurs with any mode other than Eco. But yes, tailwinds and hills help.

Normal GOAT I get about 28.5 on the dash, 90% highway driving at about 75mph. Eco GOAT with same conditions, I get about 30. Haven't done a tank of just in town driving, but it is nowhere near those numbers, i would guess about 23-24.

Have been getting around 23-24 in Eco mode driving in the city. 28+ in Eco mode on the highway.

Anyone else notice this on the window sticker? 16-120 MPG for vehicle ranges. That's a heck of a spread  What the heck is getting 120 MPG??

Typically a little over 30 MPG at 65-70 MPH, around 28.5-29 MPG at 80-85 MPH.

Around 27.5 around town.

I've put 8,000 on. I have had trip 1 set from day one and its at 29.3
On gentle roads at 50-60 I can get 30 but anything over 70 on the highway it drops to 27ish. Not very aerodynamic.

This is the closest I've ever come to an empty tank, lol

Got 28.4 while breaking in the engine on a 3K mile road trip of 80/20 highway to city, with four miles of blue rated trail thrown in for good measure.

Following the trip it’s gone down quite a bit. Eco makes bit of a positive difference, but woof, dense city (home is Washington, DC) sure murders the highway gains. My driving is short but mostly block-by-block and the Bronco makes you pay for coming to a full and complete stop.

Took a recent trip to western South Dakota from the Twin Cities area. 1450 miles, 30 mpg avg. The issue I had is that I90 through South Dakota is 80 mph... and if you do 80 grandma with her walker will drive right over you. So it was very limiting.

But on freeways where it was 65 or 70, I could for those stretches get into the mod 30s.

While in South Dakota this also included iron mtn road, and a number of long gravel roads where I wasn't shy with the pedal...

4100 miles overall with a 28.6 (ish) mpg avg.

I am getting very similar. I just got back from a trip driving to western New York State from the Philly area. A lot of low mountains and going between 73-85 the whole way there and back. Some small town driving there. 28.5 dash average.
