It's a car. It's got a unibody construction (one-piece body and frame), as opposed to a truck which has a body mounted on a steel ladder frame, like the Ranger or F-150.

By that definition a Crown Vic is a truck.

Mine is a truck, it feels like a truck when Im driving. Like a sport truck, especially when Im drifting on snow covered roads and the minute it gets into the tough driving it feels like thats what it was made for.
I love it and Im having a hard time just driving and not playing, it comes natural to my truck.

We consider ours a "RANCH TRUCK". One of our real rancher friends had a 1954 Willys Wagon that was used on the ranch he managed. The ranch owner used the Willys to run into town for feed, groceries and anything else he needed.

We have used our BS much the same way. It has made a few trips into town to pick up feed for our donkeys, groceries for us and some hardware to maintain the fence. The rubber floor mats and cargo area are great. Easy to clean up and maintain.

So, my answer is yes it is a truck. It is our "RANCH TRUCK."

A truck is classified as a motor vehicle designed primarily for hauling cargo or property, not passengers. That's it.

Where it comes to construction, while body-on-frame is common it is not the deciding criteria. The design purpose or use of a vehicle is what dictates its classification, not the chassis it sits on.

The ability to modularize the body components and increase GVWR are the only inherent advantages to ladder frame construction vs. monocoque.

At the end of the day, if it's got a bed or is otherwise purpose-built as a cargo hauler, it's a truck.

If a Maverick is a truck this is a truck.
Common platform, entirely different purposes. The C2 platform in the US has a car (Focus), truck (Maverick), and an SUV (Bronco Sport).
