Cool people drive SUVs with black roofs. I really like the black roof on my Badlands. Had all the pillars covered with Paint Protection Film (PPF) including the portion above the rear hatch - that solved any issue with swirl marks on the piano black plastic. And had ceramic coating applied on the entire exterior - this makes for super easy cleaning including the black roof.

We did the same thing to our '24. Ceramic wrapped the entire exterior.

I just realized another reason I prefer the lighter roofs.

The very attractive, raised roof lines, stand out more.

With the black roof rails, against a black roof, it all kinda muddies together.

I have an early 2021 BL in Rapid Red and I opted for the carbonized gray roof, not a fan of black roofs, especially in Northern CA where summers run well over 100°. Honestly, I wanted the extra bit of sparkle in the gray versus flat black, I love it! I have still never seen another red BS with a gray roof, I like being unique.

This red looks so good with the grey roof.

Think I like all 3 options - black rook - grey roof - body color roof. What surprised me was losing cargo capacity with a full size spare. Even started a thread on it....

I'm definitely a big fan of the two tone. I know it's becoming more common now, but at the time this was announced it wasn't terribly common yet so it felt like i had a pretty unique vehicle. I wanted something that was fun, extremely practical, and could handle any reasonable weather/terrain from DC suburbs to fire trails in Michigan. Couple that with a family attachment to Ford, and this really was my best option for under 50k that still had lots of tech and goodies.

Possible future owner here. I too do not care for the black roof at all. Two things I'd like, I can't get. I prefer the look of the lower trim and want the larger engine.

It amazes me as to how many "hate" their black roofs.

Did a sales person place a gun to your head and force you to buy it with the black roof?

I had a '22 BB with area 51 whole body paint, which was the only way you got it. When I saw my '24 BB with the black appearance pkg and the Azure gray metallic tri coat paint I was sold! I chose the black roof because I like the contrast between the black and blue. Bought it in July, had the driver and passenger windows tinted and interior stays very comfortable. The look is what I wanted and both my wife and I love it! The first couple of years the Badlands came with the black roof. The OB could be ordered with black roof as an option, the '23 model year came with roof color options for the Badlands, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong. Truthfully, I think Ford wanted to differentiate between the Badlands model and the others, in the beginning, using the black roof to do so. Now you can order your BS any way you want paint wise that is.

PS: I just wish I had a full size spare like my previous '22. At least I have a donut!

It's like the folks who swear up and down that Ford builds their cars to last ONLY through the 60K warranty, or ONLY for 100K. Why in the world would anyone buy a vehicle from a manufacturer who intentionally builds such cars?

Everyone is allowed to have their own deal breaker type choices.

Conversely, you can dislike a part of something and still think the overall choice, is the best fit.

Wouldn't say it was the deciding factor for me to get a Big Bend but I do prefer the roof to be the same color as the rest of the truck. I knew I didn't need all the Badlands goodies so I was pretty set on an OBX or BB.

The main thing I couldn't get over on an OBX was the 18" rims. They didn't look right to me from both a size and design element. I just liked the general appearance of the Big Bend more with the rims and the matching roof color.
I also prefer the Roof to be the same color as the rest of the Vehicle and i don't like the looks of those 18" Wheels either i like my 17" Wheels which i think are the same as yours.

I might ruffle some feathers here but I'm not a fan of black vehicles, black interiors or all black wheels for various reasons.

Looks like the 2025 BL only offers black rims if I'm not mistaken. Ford, give me a choice.

My 2021 BL is Iconic silver with the Carbonized gray roof and the roof is dark enough for me.
I agree on the Black Wheels on these Newer Vehicles not a Fan at all.

The black roof makes the Bronco Sport look shorter than it really is. I prefer solid color or even a white roof over the black roof.
