I’m still new to life with a Bronco Sport so my criticisms are extremely minor so far. And there are a lot of equally passionate owners here yet with more mileage under them.

It’s usual for manufactures to upsize vehicles they redesign from generation to generation. So it could be interesting to consider what Ford might take away from owners of the current version.

Speaking for myself, at this point, I don’t want to see the Bronco Sport look radically different or get much bigger than it is presently. I don’t think it needs to get that much more powerful either. Candidly fuel economy seems to have largely stagnated as vehicles get ever heavier and more powerful, any gained fuel efficiency is lost. I sure as hell don’t want to see the info screen get any bigger and I don’t want to see the loss of physical controls. And I absolutely don’t want to see what they did to the 2024 Mustang putting a stretched out iPad on a shelf as the dashboard and calling it a day.

Thoughts or ideas anyone?

Being that the 2025 year for the Bronco Sport is a pretty big refresh/redesign that addressed most of the main wants, it is hard to say what the next refresh will look like.
I think that the main thing folks are still wanting that hasn’t been addressed (outside of secondary market) is more ground clearance.
Other than that and random design changes not much else will change over time imo.

I think our definitions of “big refresh/redesign” are very different lol…not sure I’d call a couple changes to the bumpers and a new screen as “big”

Right. A refresh and tweaking is not a redesign.

The current Bronco Sport exists in two worlds: You can use it is as a street friendly daily driver that can also be respectable off-road. In contrast the bigger Bronco is definitely an off-road vehicle with tamed manners for the street. The focus is different for both vehicles.

Ford struck a good balance with the current Bronco Sport resulting in a very popular and successful vehicle. Would Ford be willing to jeopardize that by pushing the Bronco Sport too far one way or the other?

Very popular…really depends again. Subaru sells more Crosstreks, Foresters and Outbacks…for example.

I think adding in a Sasquatch Package that comes with Full bash plates, front and rear tow hooks, and gives the OBX model rear lockers is a significant refresh being that you cannot get that on earlier models. That is all more than just changes to bumpers and bigger screen.
Which even the bigger screen for some would be considered a big deal if that is something you wanted. I would consider the 2025 BS a pretty big refresh.

^^ A refresh is still not a redesign. Adding a feature is not a clean sheet redesign.

And you can be popular and successful without being the most popular or most successful.

Ford already gave the sport a face-lift for 2025. I think that's going to be it for the sport. I think it'll go for 25, 26 model year and retire it. Maybe the full bronco also.
It will depend on sales of the model lineup.

I think you will see the bronco sport become a hybrid. I really had that feeling a few years ago, but now not so much. But if you live in Washington state like I do all new cars starting in 2030 must be all electric. But I’ll wait to see if that happens, since the USA buys electric from Canada

A big element I like about the Bronco Sport is its clean design. It’s not overdone with weird and haphazard lines and shapes like many of the imports. I look at Toyota and Hyundai in particular with weird busy shapes that look like different components just slathered together.

I also like Ford didn’t overdo the “tough” image like Toyota and GMC do. I wasn’t fond of the front end refresh of the Ranger—I preferred the previous look—but at least it wasn’t horrible. I don’t like that metal element on the front end of the 2025 Bronco Sport Badlands, but at least they didn’t put it on the entire lineup.

Part of what I like about the current Bronco Sport is while it looks like a very simple design it actually has nuances of detail to that make it pleasantly interesting. Like how the body angles out a bit from the bottom window line before going downward again. It gives it a hint of muscular vibe to it and subtly widens the design. Very nice.

I really like those bulges on the hood when you look forward from the driver’s seat—it’s cool. I’d like to see them keep that in some way.

More ground clearance. Also, a head up display like the Escape but a better design.

I'd like a cable powered emergency brake. I think an electric brake on a vehicle with battery issues is a safety concern.

I really like a smaller key fob. I'd buy an aftermarket one if it were available.

Bigger wheel wells to allow for larger tires would help a lot with clearance.
