I bought a 2025 Bronco Sport Big Bend with a black diamond package. I would like to play music from a flash drive, not my phone.
There is one USB-B port when I plug in the flash drive the screen says "this is a charge port only." Am I doomed to not use a flash drive to play music?
Thanks!

I'm sure the 25's are different, but in my 22 BB dash console there are both USB-A and USB-C "data transfer" ports. I use one for music and the other for the phone for CarPlay.
From the 2025 Owner's manual:
Data Transfer USB Ports
Ford Bronco Sport MP3 music on a flash drive in a 2025 Bronco Sport {filename}

The USB ports could be in the following locations:
  • On the lower instrument panel.
  • Inside the media bin.
  • Inside the center console.
Note: These USB ports can also charge devices.
Note: Not all USB ports in your vehicle have data transfer capabilities.
Note: We recommend using only USB-IF certified cables and adapters. Non-certified cables and adapters may not work.
Cheers!

Note that even a data transfer port may not work if you've simply got MP3's or other audio file on a flash drive.

It should work, I'm running a USB-C stick with 2600 MP3 files on it without issues. Cheers!

I have a 2023 but I saw a picture of a 2025's interior. I would think you'd need to get a USB-C flash drive and try that out. Maybe someone can chime in to verify it works.

If not... I have one somewhere but I don't know if I have any .mp3s. I can give it a go but it may take a few days.

I have a 21 BSFE and both the USB C and USB A on the dash play MP3 files.
The USB under the arm rest is only for charging.
You may be encountering a formatting issue.
Through trial and error I learned a new Nissan doesn’t support the standard file formatting on very Large USB drives (1 TB?)
I solved this by reformatting the Thumb drive to a lower capacity … note that I still have 3,000 +/- songs on the drive with room to add more, so I didn’t mind wasting some drive space.
There is a long thread about this with more detail - probably around 2022.
Best of luck

Our 21 BS/BB is the same way. The larger of the 2 ports we have a thumb drive in with all my wife's music & the smaller one is for my wife's phone.

Thanks for all the advice guys. In all my Escapes and even my wifes ecosport I never had this trouble. Thanks for the manual post. I am going to try and reformat the flash drive if that dont work i'll get a USB-c and try it.
Take care!

Capacity almost certainly plays a role here. In my 2012 F150 Ford said 64gb was the max, but for some reason I was able to get a 128gb USB stick to work.

On my two current Sync3 vehicles I'm successfully running 256gb USB sticks with no issue. Same on my Sync4 vehicles (I should try 512gb stick just to see).

Having said that, I would be gobsmacked if the USB port on a 2025 didn't transfer data. We were thinking of looking at the 2025 BS BL in the near future. I'll have to remember this and check it out.

I am running 256 on my 2014 sync my touch, I can't see why 512 or 1TB wouldnt work by now, but who knows.
