2022 Bronco Sport Badlands
I just received my long awaited 2024 Bronco Sport Badlands - see my reintroduction post.
A couple of surprises:
1. The under hood blanket is there!
2. The panel under the glovebox area (passenger footwell) is there. I have one of these on backorder, but will not cancel the order. It will make a nice birthday present for my neighbor and her '23 BS Big Bend.

I've only been able to drive it the 4 miles home from the dealer due to a sudden illness, and it's best that I don't drive for a few days. I was in the ER a few hours before my BS Badlands delivery.
My initial impressions are mixed.
The cockpit, wonderful. Happy, Happy.
The advanced cruise control options surprised me, but in a good way. A car in front of me was turning left and my car slowed down. Usually, I would just zoom around on the right side without slowing down much. It brought a smile to my face.
The Falken WIldpeaks are very rumbly. I thought the Goodyear Weather Readys that I had on my traded '17 Escape were rumbly. Good thing I decided to buy without a test drive, or I might have not gone with the Falkens. My dislike of the Pirelli's though would have me replacing them in short order. I suspect that it will take a bit of time to get used to them.
Enjoy!! And hope nothing is seriously wrong .. get well soon !

I miss all the stuff my '21 OB had. I have a loaded '23 Maverick LXT now. Loved the blacked out keypad on the OB. My '23 Maverick has a wired keypad on the column but none of the Mavericks have it for '24. Everyone is stuck with the ugly stick-on which now has to be programed by the dealer for $$$. You use to be able to program it yourself. They're doing the same thing with the Maverick they are with the Sport. Less stuff and costs more every year.
Looks like a Ford policy to load up the first model year and then cut options year after year to make it cheaper and still charge you more.

Thanks for the well wishing. My Cardiologist called me yesterday to confirm that he wants me in the office Monday morning.
In the meantime, my Badlands is in the garage sitting on the battery maintainer, just begging me to go for a drive. :)
New car, new battery, never know the state of charge, so it's been my habit to put a new battery on a trickle charger when I first get it.
Update : the cardiologist scheduled me for an appointment 2 weeks from now. If you're wondering, I was diagnosed with Afib some 2 years ago, but never really had any issues until last Friday when I had a severe episode: rapid heartbeat, and unable to catch my breath. necessitating me to call 911.
Some of you may have seen Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's TV commercial that he was diagnosed with Afib. It's not usually life threatening but can restrict physical activities.

I recently got a 2024 Bronco Sport Badlands. The door keypad is the same as the one on the older cars - internal on the B pillar, and not the external keypad used on the Mavericks and Big Broncos.
The only difference that I am aware of for the Bronco Sport is that it is dealer installed.

I found a video of how to retrieve the door keypad code without crawling under the dash to get a look at the numbers on the label on the module there.
It's quite easy and I tried it and it works on my 2024 BS BL. The tech who installed my keypad didn't bother to write the factory code down anywhere.
1. remove rubber mat from cell phone charge location.
2. Have both original keys handy
3. Place first key in the rectangular depression on right side of flat area in front of the 12V socket
4. Press Start without foot on brake pedal
5. Hit Start button again
6. Replace first key with second key
7. Hit Start Button again without foot on brake pedal
8. Press OK button on right side of steering wheel to clear message
and Factory Keypad Code will be displayed

I am not sure if this is only in my 22 because I have not asked anyone, but the gear selector will continue to spin left and right even after Park or Drive is selected, which are the furthest left and right. On my previous 21, the spinning would lockout letting you know you have reached the first or final gear selection. I have found myself fumbling with the gear selector a time or two and twisting it extra times without the peace of mind of the noticeable lockout.

Not a fan of the selector. It's worse than buttons. I like stick shifters.

I had foldable headrests on my ‘19 Escape Titanium. I was led to believe my ‘23 BS had all the bells and whistles, but it doesn’t, and having to roll the front seats back and forth is probably one of the more annoying non-features. Speaking of annoyances, is there a way of getting rid of the visual warning and bing bong signal “check rear seat for occupants”? That’s tantamount to calling me an idiot every time I shut the motor off.
You turn this off in settings, but it reactivates every six months. I was going on about this stupid feature with friends. They told me they knew a couple who switched who would drop the baby off at child care and... worst possible outcome occurred! I was agog.

I shut mine off. No baby and the dog never lets me forget.

Hah! No wonder it didn't work when I tried it. I had my foot on the brake pedal when I pushed the start button! I am always locking myself out of my car and was bummed I was going to have to ask the dealer for help with this. Now if I could only get the garage door opener thingy to work, I'd be golden!

The code should also be in the materials that came with the owner's manual.

Not for '24 models, where the keypad is dealer installed.
It's up to the dealer's tech who installed the keypad to provide the factory code to the customer.

Gotcha. Mine is a 21 so I have a card with the code.

So I'll have to pay the dealer to program this? I was going to get this next. I wasn't sure I'll use it but I think it'll come in handy.

Now, if the key fob was normal sized, I probably wouldn't even consider it.

I wonder if it’s because we now have FordPass. I’ve enjoyed the keypad for decades and it provides peace of mind. I’ll be really disappointed if it’s being discontinued.
Im curious what do you use the keypad for? I have it but have never used it.

To unlock/lock the vehicle without the keys. That’s the only thing it’s used for.
