I just bought a 2022 Badlands and had a drive of 80 miles back from Safford VW in Fredericksburg, VA where this Bronco Sport was traded in. I have been using STP Ceramic Oil Treatment in the 2018 Mustang I traded in and also in the 2024 Escape my wife drives. It instantly quieted down both engines. I got 2-3 MPG better in my Mustang and 4-5 better MPG in the Escape. Wife drives really slow and we are in Northumberland County, Virginia where the population is only 12,000 people so, really tranquil traffic. My Mustang had a button to pull up gauges that showed cylinder head temperature and after adding the Ceramic treatment, that temperature averaged 185 degrees. Before using the STP Ceramic it averaged 205 degrees. That's amazing. Anyway, I carried a bottle with me when I picked up this Bronco Sport and put it in a couple of miles after leaving the dealer. I averaged over 32 MPG coming home. I know some are going to say it's snake oil but, it sure is working for me and I wanted every Bronco Sporter to know about it.

MpG is a fallacy. It continuously varies by so many factors that comparisons or decisions based on it aren't really valid. Even the EPA doesn't drive them outside to verify the manufacturer's ratings, they do computer dyno inside to have consistent conditions.

If your 2022 is still under warranty, adding oil or fuel additives can void your engine warranty.

As if a dealer will sample and analyze either.

The only reliable way to compute mileage is with a paper and pen (or calculator) and even then it’s not going to be dead accurate unless you can figure out a way to fill the tank to the exact same level before and after the calculation.

The dash gauge is an approximation using an algorithm written by a Ford engineer. I’ve reset the fuel economy gauge and driven 50 miles or so and it has showed up to 38 mpg. It slowly decreases as I drive until it regresses to the mean which on my Badlands is about 26-28 mpg.

The dash gauge is NEVER accurate. Mine is ALWAYS 2 to 4 mpg high. My brain can't fathom that a quart of liquid would lead to a 10% improvement in fuel economy, something manufacturers have been trying to achieve and still spend multiple billions on every year.

Fine, the original post is about STP Ceramic Oil Treatment, not regular STP Oil Treatment makes your car run smoother, cooler and get better gas mileage. Not about how Bronco Sports calculate MPG.

It’s absolutely related to the original post since the claim is this oil additive increases gas mileage and then uses the on-board fuel economy gauge as the yardstick.

Fine, it's related. The post is still about STP CERAMIC Oil Treatment.
