I installed Redline hood struts, and I don't know if that makes any difference. Running the interstate at 70 or 75 my hood seems fine. Interestingly though, I do get a little bit of vibration from the high-power blowers that dry off the car at the end of the car wash I go to (Delta Sonic).
I get the same thing here in Buffalo at the Go Car Wash. 1st time I went thru I thought the damn hood was going to pop right off.

Ever since I put the hood deflector on, I've had issues with bad hood shake I've posted about. I tried the above with some tubing I had laying around that was 3/8" od. First I only put it in across the fire wall. It helped a lot, but I was still getting some lifting at the sides, hinge area. The next day I put the tubing in the seal on the hood itself which seals across the front and sides. I didn't go all the way across the front, just where my finger is in pic. I did fill the gap between the front and side seal. This solved my hood shake problem. It no longer lifts at the sides. I get a little shaking at high speed about the same as before the aero skin 2 which never bothered me.

I added hood struts which reduced the hood vibration even more. I will try your idea of adding tubing to the front and side seals.

Sounds like you conquered it. Keep an eye on your engine temps to see if the change in airflow has any negative effects.

I installed a length of 1/4” rubber fuel line hose into the hood rear seal and it stopped vibration completely. Hose is .490” outer diameter and was easily inserted with the aid of a little soapy water, Easy DIY.
I’d love to see some pics of this mod.
I posted too quick. So I’ll ask how much of the fuel hose was needed?

Ah so you let the hose hang out on to the sides of the hood? I have some over hang of the hose but it's not touching the edge. Will use what I have left to do the over hang. My shaking has went down considerably since doing this but still just a little, the silver color doesn't help, it shows any movement in the hood lol

Try turning the two black rubber hood bumpers out a half a turn or so.
Also if you have side seals on the hood, try putting the 1/4” hose in them as well

Followed your instructions today. Will report tomorrow. I’m sure it will be just as windy.

Update: Hood shake reduced by 90%. Very pleased.

So far so good. I get a little hood shake above 65, more than before the deflector but a lot better than before addressing the hood seal. Its still more than Id like to see but I don't get that feeling my hoods about to fly off. Its been hitting over a 100 degrees everyday the last week. No probs with overheating or anything, I drive 35 miles home on 75 mph highway. I want to experiment with a different seal across the back of the hood but haven't got to yet. I put the deflector on for bug control and hopefully some kind of rock protection. I do notice a lot less bugs on my windshield that are still spattered on my front end so it is working. Ive been hit twice with my new third windshield already. Although they both marked my windshield they didn't crack and spider so I was able to have repaired.

Noticed some hood vibration or flapping before when driving at around 70 mph, but nothing like today, I thought my hood was going to braek in half and fly off. Ford installed a bug deflector yesterday and today while going down the interstate I have never seen anything like it, bounce bounce bounce bounce (in the middle of the hood). I looked on another forum and read some posts that the bug deflector makes it worse and it does

.

Called Dealership taking back in, they checked their system and no one has reported it (hard for me to believe) and no bulletins on it. I did see one post where a guy attached a hose to the hood and it resolved the issue. Ford said they will look at it but only thing they can do is take deflector off, uggh. Anyone else experience this? Hoping I can return the deflector.

Update as of may 4 - posted video - we adjusted the hood stoppers and it helped some, still movement but nothing like it was the other day

Considering getting the Hood Scoop so I don't see the bounce or glare, or a matte black decal, my father did mention to get the hood sprayed underneath with a sound dampening spray, since the top middle part is s0 flexible and just a crap design on Fords part.

Mine vibrates big time. Before and after installation of Aeroskin. Other people have actually commented on it "is that normal?". Obviously the aluminum too thin. Long term concern is when metal flexes thousands of times it creates metal fatigue. I've adjusted stoppers, no change. I may spray the underside with Linex type of coating. People say it's normal? I've owned countless new vehicles of all types and this is by far the worst I've ever seen.

Is that a rigid hose? Similar to plumbing Pex?

Just a thought, I know the insulation for the hood is not overly sturdy, (I have it in storage waiting on my BS)any BS owners with it installed see any difference in the hood vibration versus ones without insulator?

yes it is. It was what I had laying a around to experiment with. It works good, there is a noticeable difference. If I was purchasing something it would be prob be fuel line tubing. I don't know about anyone else; I haven't paid a lot a attention to hood seals lately but I surely remember them from the 60's- 80's being a heck of a lot thicker rubber. I like the deflector but boy does it change the flow over the hood.
