Had mine done at 38k miles. Dealer flushed the entire system per the TSB and I got the -B level water pump part number. Fingers crossed it's good!

Check engine light came on at 17,500 miles due to a "small evap leak in the fuel neck." During the diagnosis, the dealership also discovered low coolant levels, traced to a "small leak" in the pump. Both the fuel neck assembly and water pump were replaced under warranty. Given the poor longevity of the factory pump and similar reports from other users, I'm not optimistic about how long this replacement will last.

I am very grateful that, due to the numerous other issues with this vehicle, Ford gifted me a 10-Year/100k Mile PremiumCARE plan.

Is having coolant level below the MIN line on the reservoir and indication of a bad water pump? I've had my 23 Outer Banks for a little over a year with about 13k miles on it.

Ford Bronco Sport Have you had the 1.5 water pump failure 1000018652

It's possible. I've had to top off my reservoir multiple times in 24k miles. Never any coolant on the ground, but on last oil change I could see coolant residue at the pump weep hole and spray residue on my underhood insulation blanket. I could always smell the coolant though. Time to take it in. Cheers!

Well now I’m worried about my water pump. I filled my windshield washer fluid today and saw that my coolant level is really low. I’ve gone and bought some of the Motorcraft pre-diluted coolant to fill it back up once the engine cools completely again. Here’s hoping it’s just needing topped off and the water pump itself is not going bad but I’m not going to hold my breath. If it ends up having to be replaced, this will be my first issue with my ‘23 OBX. We really like this vehicle. I sure hope this isn’t the first in a series of issues others have had. I would hate to have to get rid of it.

^^^ Coolant does not evaporate. You have a leak. Most likely the water pump. Just be happy its covered under warranty.

I'm in the same position. My '23 OBX was built in January of '23, and I picked it up in February of '23. It currently has about 11,100 miles on it. When I read this thread, I checked the coolant reservoir. It is just below the minimum level. I have to admit I have never checked this level until now. I do my own oil changes and have had the lower pad off several times. The only thing I noticed was a buildup of road salt from our Syracuse winters. No sign of leakage. The question now is: Do I buy the Ford coolant. Fill the reservoir and drive it, or take it to the dealer while I still have warranty?

For right now I’m filling the reservoir and driving it to see how long it takes for the level to drop again. I also am just in the 11,000‘s mileage wise So I have plenty of warranty left. I figure I will need this info when I take it in anyway. If I tell them how long it took and how much coolant I’ve had to add maybe it will help convince them just to go ahead and replace the pump.

In my opinion, do both. I have the same issue, and the leak is very slow. I keep my reservoir topped off and I'll get the BS in to the dealer soon. Cheers!

Had to change my vote in the poll. My 23 Outer Banks with 38K is getting its new water pump next week. Dealer found it was leaking during a service visit and is covering it under the Powertrain warranty. Thanks to the forum posts like this one I was not shocked when I got the news.
