Was really about to make the move from 235/65 17 AT3’s to a 245 AT4 - but this has me hesitating now with with 10lbs per tire increase in weight. Not so sure I want to be the early adopter….
I was thinking the same yesterday when I read this thread. After researching a couple different options, like Yokohama, BFGoodrich, etc. I’m still leaning towards the Falkens even with the extra weight of the new 4 series. I’m also looking to get some new wheels, so may just adjust my search terms and go for something that’s either flow formed or forged to help make up the weight difference.

The Falken WP AT3 has been such a great tire for my BS and hits all areas of performance that I would be concerned with but was considering something with a little bulkier sidewall. Now, with the release of the AT4 they have made nearly my perfect tire.

It will cost a bit more to go flow formed or forged, but in the end tires are the most critical part of a car for me.

Any tire you choose in the 245 size is going to be that same weight change. It’s not just the Faulkens. You’re going to add weight

I thought the AT4s with the bulkier sidewall are in sizes not for the BS, I’ll go back and look again at the specs

Yeah perhaps the 3 ply/10 doesnt fit but I was thinking more to the extended lugs that come a bit further down the sidewall.

Well I need tires and have been awaiting a couple new tires - the AT4 being one and KO3, but given my latest research on both and what we know so far about increased tire weight I’m likely going with a 235/65 17 falken AT4 (did consider 245 but not anymore or unless I find a really inexpensive forged wheel that would help decrease weight). As for KO3 I can’t continue waiting for the release of more sizes and honestly think the AT4 is freaking beautiful!! Buy 5 for an extra in the living room kind of beautiful. ?

Hey sounds like a good choice. I have about 400mi on mine and my combine mpg is 23.6. Very happy with them so far

Forum members that where lucky enough to get the Falken Wildpeak AT4W have had nothing but good things to say about them. You would not go wrong with that choice.
