Another negative that I thought about regarding discontinuing CarPlay and Android access is that we are renting a car in a few weeks and it very likely could be a Chevy Equinox. I may be wrong about this but I am expecting to be able to add my phone to the cars system and use CarPlay for navigation directions instead of paying an additional fee for navigation on the rental car.

Guess if I have to buy another vehicle (especially GM) it’ll be back to Thomas Guide and Rand McNally . . . oh, and a magnifying glass :sunglasses:

The article says earliest models will be MY28. You're fine for several more years.

You should be able to do that. Every rent car I’ve had, Nissan, GM, Ford, I’ve been able to pair my phone into that car.

Good news.......www.mapquest.com somehow still miraculously exists!
