Hi, new to the forum. I joined because everything I do with/to my new 2025 sport BB I drive myself nuts questioning if what I am doing is best for my new Bronco. Even just washing turned into a ton of questions ! My friend of 40+ years says thats typical me ! I traded my 69 mach 1 that I had for 30 years to get this bronco (long story ) so I want to do this right.
The latest quagmire in my head is lifting. I got a rough country 1.5 kit with the loaded front struts and rear springs. Was going to do the HRG but then ... questions. The whole reason I went with lift was to fit 245/65r17 BFG at KO2s. Wanted the raised white letter and that was the closest size they came in. Anyway... I have looked at many threads here and my question now is should I cancel my lift kit order and just put the tires on without it ? Like the stance upgrade but am reading about problems it can cause. am I worried for nothing ? My buddy says they wouldnt make the kit if it would be a prob ? He is also the one that dosent have a problem cutting off half of his fender on the 1994 I sold him to fit tires ! Not my style.

My dream car is a 69 fastback; preferably a 429 Boss, but I suffer from poor people problems, so that is out of the question. Sorry to hear you had to get rid or yours......I am sure it was more painful than going through labor.

There are a few guys here who have lifted their BS. I cannot speak from personal experience, but I am sure someone will chime in. Personally, I am not one to shy away from doing things to my vehicles because it "may cause issues". If the issues arise, I'll do what needs to be done to make it right, but that's just me. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your build!

I too suffer with poor people probs ! I got the car when even a punk 25 year old could afford it. I am remorseful but love my bronco. This is likely my last (only) new car hence my hesitation. There is always the lottery to hope for !

You traded in a 69 Mach 1 for a Bronco Sport?
I hope the Mach 1 was a junk pile, even at that it was likely worth more than the Sport.
Maybe if you traded for a full size Bronco that would have been at least tolerable.
You don't need a lift to fit 245/65r 17 tires, I have them on my Badlands others on the board run them with stock stock suspension on other trims as well. Someone here has the Rough Country loaded suspension and liked it's performance the loaded suspension package has good reviews.
Good luck in deciding what mods you may or may not want to do with your Sport.

You could put the tires on now and see what you think, then add the lift afterwards or return it.

good advice. I was leaning in that direction> the kit is on backorder till Aug so I think i'll cancel for now. I heard they are discontinuing the KO2s so I am glad I got them before they do. Been running BFGs since forever.
Still appriciate any lift advise or opinions

I have the rough country 1-1/2 inch full strut and spring lift on my 23 big bend , 25k miles later no problems, I went with the Goodyear work horse 235/70 R17 tires for the extra lift , made a post here back in 24 , took the big bend to big bend NP last year and made it through the worst trail there( Black Gap)only had one spot that was iffy , and did puncture a tire , i now carry a full size spare , the doughnut spare is not recommended for long distance use .

My BS 23 has 1.5” lift with 245/65/R17 Duratrac RT.
I started with the tires only. I liked them but I wanted more: 1.5” lift. No big issues; I just need to relearn to drive in the rain with those tires. No big deals.
The only change I made was replacing the “brake hose” with a longer “PTFE hose with steel mesh” in the rear to avoid the original brake hose reaching its limit when the wheel is in the air — whether doing maintenance or going on a trail with the BS.

@hefler nice where did you find those or how did you determine they would work for the sport?
It was custom made. It was required to go to the shop to see the original one to create this; checking the screws size, etc. Any shop/mechanic specializing in track day cars can make one (at least in Brazil). Since I live now near the Interlagos racetrack, it wasn't difficult to find a mechanic.

Do you notice any more firmness in braking?
