What happens when you take the vehicle in for service? Would the dealer be able to identify are reverse the changes you made?

Well chances are when I take it in for service, they're going to do just that service the vehicle. I could care less what they think of me doing changes to it it's my vehicle not theirs. I did nothing to it that would affect anything warranty-wise which they would have to prove otherwise on a warranty claim anyway. I won't be reverting anything back just to go into a dealer. LOL

I took my F150 to the dealer this September for a TSB that got my tranny rebuilt for free from Ford. I took my vehicle to them with a plethora of FORScan changes, firmware from different vehicles on certain modules, a performance tune on it, intake, blow-off valve, exhaust, lift kit and aftermarket wheels.

All work approved and paid for by Ford under factory powertrain warranty.

Oh yes, they can easily see it and revert it if they want to. But most won't bother unless there is something you did that they can prove that caused an issue that you attempting to claim under warranty.

Actually, they can't easily see these changes unless they're actually looking for them. When you go in for a service they aren't plugging your vehicle in to check for modifications, they're doing your oil change service brakes etc whatever you're there for your VIN is going to be recorded in the system for maintenance logs and that's it if the vehicles do for a recall or a software upgrade or something then yes that's when it will be connected to their system and scan but again they're not looking for changes they're just updating the system. The only time they would be looking for a change done to the system and see it is if you are having a warranty issue on a specific item and their troubleshooting. When they plug your vehicle and it doesn't automatically just pop up and say "warning this vehicle has had Bambi mode enabled" , slight exaggeration but I think you know what I mean. And if they do any software updates to the vehicle then yes there's a very good chance that most of these mods would be reverted back to as built, but then again that doesn't necessarily happen either because on my old F-150 I had done several mods including Bambi mode seat belts and a few other things and yet when it went in for a reverse solenoid in the transmission under warranty, they also flashed my computer with a new software update for shift strategies to improve how the truck worked, and it didn't affect any of my previous mods.

Why do you want TPMS off? Seems like a useful feature to know tire pressure. Just curious

As I mentioned in another post, the winter tires I picked up that are practically brand new but were used on a 2013 Ford escape, have sensors that are a different frequency than is used in our broncos. Therefore, I was getting constant warnings on the dash for TPMS sensor issues. Just easier to turn them off. I'll more than likely turn them back on when my summer tires go on. And I may pick up a set of sensors next summer and install them in those wheels. The wheels are in really good shape with just a little bit of rust showing in a couple of places, just typical for steel wheels that see constant snow and salt. I was thinking of either sandblasting them and refinishing them or possibly even picking up a set of aluminum wheels, so either way I'll have them apart and perfect chance to throw in proper sensors.

Exactly, perfect example. Pretty much the same thing I did. They usually could care less unless you did something that directly affects the warranty issue.

I’m guessing you don’t have places where you drive <5mph on a regular basis… I wear my seatbelt everywhere, but when I get to our property, I take it off and listening to the damn chime is annoying as shit… and the “process” that is displayed for turning it off doesn’t actually work on the ‘25s.

Yeah when I'm working out in the backyard around my storage units and moving a bunch of trailers around that time gets very annoying. And yes you are 100% right the procedure in the manual does not work for the 2025 for some strange reason. And I tried it probably at least 10 or 12 times thinking I was doing something wrong LOL

Nothing really. In your case being on Sync 3, they can reconfigure the module to write the original data back on it if they wanted to, but even if they notice whatever you enabled or disabled, they won't care.

Sync 4 vehicles are different. They will eventually sync up with the server and whatever changes you make become your new permanent as-built data. So the dealer will not be able to revert the changes you made and neither will an OTA update. However, let's say you make a change to the APIM today and get an APIM OTA tomorrow, chances are, whatever change you made would get reverted. But, if you make a change in the APIM and you get an APIM OTA in 4 months or after the vehicles synced up with the mothership, the changes you made will remain.

Your changes don't ever become permanent as in as built. That's the whole purpose of the as built template. Even years down the road you can go back into forscan and reload your as built file that can be populated from your VIN number, flash it back to the computer and your vehicle will be back to the way it was when it came off the assembly line. Your changes never become permanent as-built.

I don't think we're on the same page here. I agree with you on your points, but I am referring to your a/b data on Ford's servers. Once the FORScan changes you make get uploaded to the server, that is your new "permanent" data on the cloud. You can still go in with FORScan and change it back, but the dealer would not be able to revert it back with FDRS nor would an OTA revert it back.

Screenshot below is the part of the a/b data of my truck. The three values in red are things I changed in FORScan to enable auto-hitch, glare free lighting, turn signal cameras while towing, lane change assist and in-lane repositioning while using Bluecruise. Since my truck was synced up to Ford's servers since I made those changes, that is my new "permanent" data on the server itself. Those values were all different when I bought it since all those things were disabled from factory.

I've tried a bunch of times to turn off the chime using the procedure in the manual, and I haven't gotten it to work on my '25. I'm glad I'm not crazy, but it's ridiculous that following a procedure outlined by the manufacturer doesn't work.

As for paying $4 extra for a sensor, I've never seen anywhere in my life that I could grab sensors added to my tire purchase for four bucks a tire extra.

I answered the question about the reason for turning off the tpms. But once again I purchased off of marketplace for practically brand new Bridgestone blizzak tires mounted already on steel rims, they were originally on a 2013 Ford escape for less than 4 months. They literally look like brand new if you were to pick out the few little stones that were stuck in the lugs. The sensors in the tires are for the escape, a 2013 escape uses a different frequency than our new current vehicles. Therefore the little Bronco doesn't acknowledge that the sensors are there so I constantly get the TPMS error on the dash. I don't want to put up with that for the next 5 months. So I disabled the system. I'll reactivate it for my summer tires. And chances are if I can find a nice set of aluminums I'll switch the winters over to those and put in proper sensors and not have to worry about it then. Same goes if I happen to sandblast and paint the steel rims to give them a little refresh, they have a few little rusty spots on them currently which is typical for seeing as much salt as they do.

Auto high beam fade on and off is super cool. Adds a touch of luxury imo.

i also disabled seatbelt chimes as well as door chimes and double honk.

why would you turn your tpms off? the only reason I can see is if you don't want to spend the extra 4 bucks to get TPMS sensors for your winter rims. seat belt chimes also, that goes off when you put your seatbelt on. and the rear lishgt, did you actualy put led bulbs in them?

Ok that makes sense. This is the first car I've owned with TPMS and I had a large puncture that deflated the tire within a minute during a heavy downpour. I wouldn't have known there was an issue as fast as I did if I didn't have TPMS.
