Didn't know where to post this, so dropping in General.

Maybe it is just me, but my 2024 BS Outerbanks sheds a lot of water in the garage. Much more than any of the vehicles we had there before (328i, X3, Infinity QX4, Kia Spectra even the F150) not that big a deal but it is annoying having the push the water puddles around so it evaporates quicker.

Been thinking of buying some form of carpet or such to aid in catching the water, then there's the mold/mildew issue that comes with that.

Anybody else experienced this in wet climates (I am in the greater Seattle area).

Bronco Sports hold onto water like a sponge or wet rag releasing the water slowly into large puddles as you are experiencing

happens even in desert dry climates after taking the BS through a Touchless car wash

I find if I drive the vehicle at speed for about 10 minutes (after the Touchless car wash) will eliminate the puddles from forming on the garage floor later but this technique unlikely will work for you because you know it’s just constantly raining where you live

You can consider using boot trays to catch the dripping. They are are typically shallow, maybe an inch deep and come in several sizes. I use boot trays under my patio garden pots to catch the overflow drainage.

Yeah, the wheel well liner is the problem, holds water like a sponge....

I have found that the foam inserts on either corner of the engine bay closest to the passenger and driver doors will hold water at the bottom for days after a rain storm. I pulled them out one day when installing side marker lights and the bottoms were sopping wet and it had been sunny for at least 4 days

Some of it could be from the exhaust as the Mufflers sometimes have weep holes in them!!

I notice after it rains that when I open my doors, water pours down from the top of it. I'm learning to move my arm out of the way so I don't keep getting soaked.....

In my experience using carwash and driving in the rain frequently the felt lined wheel wells and underbody felt sop up lots of water which drips for days.

That’s what happens when they’ve removed the little rain gutters that used to be standard equipment, ’cause it saved them a buck and improved fuel mileage a tad.

Was thinking of getting the Armor All Original Garage Floor Mat. Anybody have any experience with this?

Supposed to be "absorbent"

I'd be inclined not to use anything absorbent.

We use a squeegee, or if the water is far from the door, a shop vac.

A fan will help dry any remaining water.

I use a squeegee to but it is a pain every time you go out and it is raining or rained (which we are just stating the rainy season here).

I hear ya.

Unfortunately, I can't think of an easy solution.

Is the amount of water small enough that you could not squeegee it every time? I suppose that could be a safety hazard though.

Maybe a fan and a dehumidifier? That's what I have in our garage -- that's more to keep the humidity down for comfort and to slow rust formation on my '67 Camaro (it's nothing special but I like to try and keep it in good shape). Also, everything made of steel benefits.

THe water is not small enough to ignore, well for me to ignore :) I will probably just keep doing what I do now. We put a heater in the garage during the winter so that will help evaporate some of it.

Might end up doing the boot trays as @RushMan suggested.
