I have a 2021 BS Badlands-the breaks have groaned heavily when backing up for basically the life of the car. Apparently Ford is aware of the issue because they published a TSB with a “fix”. However I have had the car serviced twice under the TSB- back in 2023 (a few months later they updated the TSB and said the fix didn’t work), and again about 2 months ago after an updated fix. However now my car is having the same problem, if not worse. Has anyone had any luck resolving this problem or heard anything from ford about the updated TSB also not fixing the problem?

I had TSB 24-2348 Moan Noise In The Rear Brakes completed 12/5/2024 (covered under the 36 month 36k mile warranty) and no rear brake moan issues since

You will find other owners posted about their solutions and a list of a least some of the other solutions is posted here:

mine was done in last october, issue started recurring about a few weeks ago, so I hope yours doesn’t go down the same road as me

Not surprising but please double check you had TSB 24-2348 performed .. the TSB is dated 29 Oct 2024 (there are at least 3 other TSBs prior to 24-2348)

Had my First Edition in twice for issue. Groan came back shortly after, then it stopped. Now it will do it rarely on very damp or wet days. Much better but still happens. have learned to live with it. Good Luck with yours.

The TSB "fix" simply is not 100%. Throw a set of ceramic pads on the rear and your issue will end. I went through all the TSB reccomended solutions none really worked for long. After a set of pads from Oriellys....25,000 miles on them without a peep!

I have a 2021 Badlands and am out of warranty. I previously tried 3 different TSBs while within warranty. I heard the october 2024 TSB was successful so brought my car in for service. Ford service center and ford corporate customer service is saying i am responsible for the full TSB repair costs even though I tried getting the brake moan fixed 3 separate times while in warranty and Ford was unsuccessful repairing. Anyone have a similar issue?

Tell them you want to consult with your attorney before making a decision about the work.

I'm unsure if they did TSB-24-2326 or TSB 24-2348, but finally after multiple attempts, run arounds and insisting they do the TSB despite being told it wouldn't help, the noise is gone. I also brought in my own Power Stop Z36-1833A pads to install in the rear. The work was done 11/04/2024.

Ultimately this has been really poorly handled from Ford, and mostly the dealerships. This was/is a clear defect and the run around and charging customers to fix it really left a sour taste in my mouth. I love my BS and will keep it (for now), but geesh.

My other post on the issue:

I was told the same thing. Like you, I brought it in for the moaning noise each time the car had a recall for separate issues. What Ford is doing is wrong. They will lose a lot of loyal customers by not being responsible for the problem that they sold us. I submitted a complaint to the FTC. Hopefully they do something about it. I know the process is lengthy though.

You chose wisely. The more people point this out, the better chance of it being resolved without cost to the consumer.

Or do nothing, and get nothing other than a bill at your cost.

Thanks!
I’m also thinking of contacting an attorney to see if a class action lawsuit is possible.
