Took My BS into the dealership for brake moaning and now getting the runaround about TSB-24-2326

Made an appointment regarding the brake noise and to get TSB-24-2326 done. This is after several failed attempts at other dealerships that seemed to have the previous TSBs for this on perpetual backorder. So once I convinced the service manager to perform the work after he initially resisted saying that it won't even fix the problem, they then tried to hit me up with a Premier Service warranty deductible since the car is now "out of warranty". It's not that much, but I don't think I'm willing to pay it. It's been fun, but I'm honestly just considering trading the BS out while it still has value and trying something different (not FORD).

If u decide not to trade, it sounds like maybe you are on record with prior attempts to have the rear brake moan noise repaired so you could request @Ford Motor Company to set up a call with your dealership to explain that 24-2348 (which supercedes 24-2326) should be a covered fix. You could start by sending a private message to @Ford Motor Company including your VIN and dealership contact info.

This is what I’m concerned about — I took mine in for the previous TSB and they literally got the parts delivered right as the stop order was issued. I’ve since passed the warranty mileage, so I assume I’ll have to fight with them over it. The moaning has gotten worse, too, doing it more often and in less extreme conditions.

Based on my interaction with the dealership today, that is a legitimate concern.

Just because an issue is reported while still under warranty, and a repair attempted at that time, doesn't mean that it will continue to be covered after the vehicle's warranty expires. That is why it is important to get ongoing issues resolved while the warranty is still in effect. As soon as the warranty expires, the manufacturer's obligation to repair the vehicle under warranty ceases. This includes TSBs. Recalls are obviously an exception. Some situations may call for a "goodwill" repair of a previously reported issue, but it is at the discretion of the dealer to do that. Some dealers are better than others in this regard.

If parts are replaced under warranty, the warranty for those parts expires with the vehicle's warranty. If an owner pays out-of-pocket for a repair outside of the warranty, and the dealer uses Ford parts, then those specific parts and the associated work will typically carry some sort of warranty of their own since it was a non-warranty repair.

Did you miss the part about the multiple attempted attempts before the warranty expired or the part about the extended warranty, or both?

Hey there. I can look into this on my end. To get things started, can you please send over a message with some details on what repairs are needed/been performed along with your VIN and mileage?
