I was washing my Bronco Sport and and the front wheel wells were packed with ice and snow. I used my pressure washer to clean them out and I noticed that there were felt strips hanging down. I guess Ford used a felt liner in the wheel wells rather then metal or plastic.
Has anyone else out there had similar issues?

Figuring out a solution to solve the snow velcro wheel well liners is on my bucket list
You could just purchase the Big Bend wheel liners and install those. They do not have the felt on them.

Many cars now have the felt wheel well liners and underbody covers, not just Ford.

Yes so there are a few ideas out there on how to deal with the snow velcro effect.
I didnt realize it was an issue until too late.

I find they don't collect that much, ya they get a good layer going, but I go to a car wash after every work week and get the grime and road salt off my car just intime to get it covered again the next work set  so between the presoak, soap pressure wash all the ice comes off. when I first got it I was like what a stupid idea, but now I like it, keeps the noise from all the sand and gravel down, and it turned out not that hard to keep clean which i was also worried about.

We had a stretch about a month where it barely got above -10 and plenty of -20, the carwash couldnt get the water hot enough to clear the front wheel wells but the smooth rear ones it did. I have never had a vehicle hold so much snow in the wheel wells as this one to the point I avoided deep snow to prevent the inevitable. Next year wont be so bad because I will be prepared. I have to make a special effort to find gravel in my travels but I can appreciate the sound deadening, I did notice the wheel wells hold extra debris no matter what the source. Hopefully I wont be driving over a skunk any time soon lol.

weird, my experaince has been it gatches less snow and ice than my 2010 fusion did. the car wash I go to is inside a heated building and you pay by time. so by the time you park it is usaly starting to get shiny and when you hit it with the presoak you can see the ice start breaking down, then you hit it with the high pressure soap and it blows off.

ya the highway I drive on is a major high mountian pass, the tv show "highway thru hell" is based on the road I drive every day to get to work and back. as soon as there is going tobe a storm they are putting sodum chloride down if the temp is warmer, then once there is snow the gravel comes out no fail. I replace my windshield every spring.

Must be nice, I have to decide whether to chance not getting into my car if the doors all freeze shut. I should have taken a picture I guess. I cant imagine driving in the mountains through a winter must be really something.
Anyway the snow sticks like snot to these fuzzy fender liners and I dont like it.

Ah , my 2025 BSBB does have felt (or similar material) coating the front wheel liners and this material is very good at holding layers of snow and ice !

This was discovered during a very cold winter here in Ontario which hopefully is now in the rear view mirror !

Cheers

This is a terrible feature for the northern prairies. Normally, if I get snow and ice building up in the wheel well, a few kicks clears them up. With that velcro lining, I hurt my toe trying to kick the ice off, and it still won't budge. Any ideas to prevent that build-up (other than not driving in snow-not an option here) would be helpful! I'm about to try spraying Pam under there!

To me it feels like something that was designed in Southern California or Arizona where they don’t get snow! 😁
Here in AZ and the southwest mud is more evil than snow, believe me. But we can get the snow jammed up there as well, Flagstaff is one of the 10 snowiest cities in the US. So yeah, I'd pay extra for a smooth plastic wheel well.
