Just wanted to give you all an update. The local management of Ford reached out, apologized for the delays and made things right. Had my vehicle back same day, fueled up and running like a charm. The local team's accountability definitely returned some faith. Sometimes it's simple...
...its not tied to your VIN." Yet upon visiting Ford's website and this forum, it would appear that it 100% IS a recall issue, reference recall #24S24. I was told that Ford will not comp the repairs or a rental/loaner unless it's a recall issue. I have already submitted a ticket with national...
...equipped with a different 12-volt battery – from a supplier called Clarios – weren’t experiencing these types of issues when the first recall (24S24) rolled out either, but Ford later determined that those units were exhibiting the same failure mode as batteries from Camel.
In the meantime...
Have they replaced the original battery with an AGM (25S02)? Even though 24S24 corrected the reporting problem, they still had wonky EFB batteries (Camel) still going bad.
...only in the street, I'm afraid to use it in the freeway. I first took it for this issue at 7275 miles.
At 7066 miles they did the Recall 24S24 for the Body Control Module. At 7275 when I took it for the Auto Hold grinding, they found a coolant leak and electrical issues with the...
It’s does seem that you will get the AGM Battery. The workshop procedure for 25S02 lists a check: if not an AGM, replace battery with an AGM Battery. Other owners reported their non-chinese EFB was replaced under this recall with the AGM Battery.
The good news is, I don't have a Chinese Camel.
Joke's on me, I have a Mexican BEF-48H6-A. Does that get replaced or not?
Ford Pass app only lists 24S24, but I'll ask about the battery when they do the BCM work.
...Not too many vehicles are impacted as 25S26 is a recall to correct improperly performed Recall 24S24 - the link above states just 11,620 Bronco Sports are affected.
25S21 - a search on this Forum does not show 25S21 being discussed but based on your post it looks like 25S21 corrects the PCM...
...the ‘21-‘24 1.5L water pump
and the ‘21-‘24 1.5L Fuel drain tube and it’s PCM Programming (meaning the 1.5L cracked and leaking fuel injectors)
.. except for recall 24s24 and 25s02 which did impact many sports and mavericks
and the 2025 should have none of those issues being it’s the MPC...
I had been ignoring the 24S24 recall, and an (Ford?) agent texted me trying to schedule an appointment at my dealer. I really don't have half a workday to give them right now, but they were surprisingly persistent. When we finally got it booked I got a call from the dealer's service department...
...!
A 96% success rate is pretty terrible … sounds good but Ford should be able to achieve a 99.999% (5 9s) on a software update.
Recall 24S24 was applicable to about 450,000 vehicles (Bronco Sports, Mavericks). 4% failure is about 18,000 vehicles but likely not all 450,000 received Recall...
...for BCM/PCM.
So, much of my criticism of the previous post is invalid. In an ideal world, all vehicles would have been patched properly in 24S24. However, we don't live in a perfect world, and Ford identified this subset of vehicles based on a general concern for quality, doing a deep dive...
...Report that can be found in the link also mentions that the affected vehicles may not contain the remedy PCM/BCM software update from recall 24S24. A little confusing.
Summary of Recall 25V-158
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2022-2023 Maverick...
...Same as BS FE 21, I began disabling auto stop/start - in my case this was in Jan 2024 when the OE EFB was 2 years old
May 2024 I had Recall 24S24 BSM/PCM Programming done
July 2024 the EFB was replaced for free under the vehicle factory warranty by the dealership mobile service with an AGM...
Too long; didn't read: Ford knows if the vehicles were produced with Camel batteries, the dealer notification says to contact Ford internally if a recalled vehicle is not within the warranty period, Ford's general recall reimbursement policy is for repairs prior to the owner notification letter...
You make valid points. I am not convinced given Recall 24S24 that an AGM Battery is the final solution. I believe there is more tweaks coming similar as with 24S24 and I believe the parasitic drain in some Bronco Sports is excessive. Just guesses on my part and as I’ve said with Recall 24S24...
