Definitely sounds like something happened with the battery install, especially since it was so recent. Hopefully you can get it figured out soon. When modern batteries go the whole system goes haywire.

I recently ran into a serious safety issue with my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Big Bend Ed. I have approximately 75k miles and I keep my vehicle maintained. As I was driving down the highway, I recieved an audible alarm and a red error message regarding my charging system failing. No sooner did I recieve that error, I recieved about a dozen other error messages regarding other key electrical systems failing. My center console immediately shut off, displaying a "power saving" message, my power steering went out, and my car kicked into neutral. This was especially scary as I live in Alaska and the Glenn Highway is known for its dangerous conditions and drivers. My child was in the backseat and the whole ordeal was quite nerve-racking. I had the vehicle towed to Kendall Ford in Wasilla where I was told "this isn't a recall issue as its not tied to your VIN." Yet upon visiting Ford's website and this forum, it would appear that it 100% IS a recall issue, reference recall #24S24. I was told that Ford will not comp the repairs or a rental/loaner unless it's a recall issue. I have already submitted a ticket with national, and I've had to pay almost $600 for a rental for the week because Kendall Ford in Wasilla will "get to it at some point in the week."

I'm really disappointed in the service I've recieved when I've been a Ford user for a few years now. Based on this experience alone, I'm not sure I can continue being a Ford customer. What other options do I have to get this taken care of?

$1500 … did they tell you specifically what part it needs ? Sounds like they know what to replace, what is the part ?

They said it was the alternator. But they quoted me last Friday at $1500 and said it would be done by Tuesday of this week. They called me at 6pm and told me they never got to it because they thought the part never came in. They then claimed that one of them went back to check and the part was there the entire time. Why should I pay for a repair if they can't stick to their quote/agreement?

Correction, $1500 for an alternator and late service. I can probably get one at Nappa or Auto Zone for $500 😅

Just wanted to give you all an update. The local management of Ford reached out, apologized for the delays and made things right. Had my vehicle back same day, fueled up and running like a charm. The local team's accountability definitely returned some faith. Sometimes it's simple accountability.

Credit where it's due, well done Ford!
