would you mind providing us with those 2 recall numbers please
One was, or looked similar to, the update/correction to the original bcm recall. Which I had done previously. The second one didn't look familiar. I thought I had taken screenshots from the app but apparently not. They are gone from the app now.

Should be on the invoice, I'll post when I get home if they are.

That’s good info, thank you for posting

some added info:

25S26 - this is:
Recall 25V-158, Loss of Power from Undetected Low Battery
https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/new-recall-25v-158-loss-of-power-from-undetected-low-battery.13989/
Not too many vehicles are impacted as 25S26 is a recall to correct improperly performed Recall 24S24 - the link above states just 11,620 Bronco Sports are affected.

25S21 - a search on this Forum does not show 25S21 being discussed but based on your post it looks like 25S21 corrects the PCM Programming done under a different recall for mitigating a leak from a cracked fuel injector, specifically: “25S21 targets vehicles that were previously repaired under recall numbers 22V-859 or 24V-187”

It appears your vehicle was one of the few in which recall work previously performed on your vehicle was done incorrectly thus the need for rework under 25S21 and 25S26 to correct the incorrectly performed fixes.

My 2022 Sport was dead when I came out of my office yesterday. I had a coworker jump it, and thankfully made the 40-minute drive home okay. To be on the safe side, I took it to AutoZone to have them test the battery. They showed me the test and said the battery was fine. I drove the car back home and parked it. My husband and I took his truck to get dinner. We came back...the Bronco refused to start again. After a few hours of research, it was only around 10pm that I discovered there is an active recall on the 12v battery in my vehicle. I called Ford Roadside this morning (husband felt better having me tow it rather than jumping and driving it again) and they are on their way to get it. The Ford dealer I got it from said they will take a look at it this morning once it gets there. I'm assuming at this rate, because they don't have the battery that the recall will cover, they're going to send me on my way with a battery similar to what I have now. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? If you have, did a new battery (but not the battery the recall wants us to have) keep your Sport running? I do a LOT of driving for my job, and also have 2 major road trips coming up within the next month. I am now slightly worried that a "band aid" battery could see me possibly stranded. Would be happy to hear of some other experiences (though it would also suck if it was happening to a lot of us).
The dealer will replace the battery with AGM type under warranty

I believe the problem prompting the battery replacement recall would preclude it functioning at all. IIRC, some of those who've experienced sudden shutdown of their car reported they could not even jump start. Make sure your dealership applies the software update related to the Battery Management System. This is a separate recall from the one regarding battery replacement. This update is supposed to better manage alternator output to provide an appropriate charge to the battery while you are driving it. Before I had this update applied to my car I had to put my battery on a charger every few days. Now, it stays charged just from driving regularly.
Thank you for letting me know about this. They sent me home with a new battery and said it was definitely the battery and not alternator or starter, but they still had no idea when the batteries for the recall would come in. Car has been driving fine, but thanks to your note here, I did just call them to ask if my software update was completed and they said it was.

I am nervous now about driving the Bronco Sport 12+hours each way on a trip next month.

That is a feature that has been all years of the BS.
Battery saver mode or Deep sleep mode - After not driving the vehicle for an extended time period I believe 14 days. It will enter this mode and shut down non essential functions to save battery power to be able to start the car when needed.

Most auto parts stores use a voltage meter to test the battery. This can tell you the current voltage, but it does not tell you anything about battery function. For that you need to conduct a battery load test.

There are many, many posts here on the site regarding battery issues with these cars. There are also two recalls, one regarding battery management software, the other the batteries themselves. You can check to see if your car is on the recall list at the NHTSA's website, using the FordPass app on your mobile device, or by calling your servicing dealership.
Hi Mark,
I started having a problem with my 2021 BS BL battery in March of 2024 – it wouldn’t hold charge even after connecting it to an external charger for long periods of time and I had increased safety concern about driving the car. In June 2024, not realizing yet that there is a known problem with it, I purchased an AGM battery from Walmart (EverStart Platinum AGM Automotive Battery, Group H6 / LN3 / 48 12 Volt, 760 CCA) with a 4-year free replacement warranty at the cost of approximately $205.

In February this year, I received the recall letter from Ford stating: “Parts are not available” …” When the remedy becomes available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via email to schedule a service appointment your dealer…. The remedy is anticipated to be available Q2 2025”

I am still waiting for that email, but I don’t think that replacing it sometime in the future would be a fair solution.

I feel, and probably like many other BS owners that recognized that the continuous use of a car with a defective battery presents a serious safety risk, that Ford should offer us the option to get reimbursed for the cost an approved replacement battery that we purchased.

I know that this situation was raised before but I haven’t heard any response to it yet.

Ford now has the parts for Recall 25S02 - see if your dealership will provide you instructions to get reimbursed for the battery you purchased

Sorry for the delayed response; we've been on vaca in the Bahamas (stand by for some gnarly Shark vids). I'm pretty sure that just about everyone agrees with your assessment. Unfortunately, the timing of the recall is problematic for you. There is a valid argument to be made that a three-year-old battery has reached the end of its service life. I agree with @Dude, contact your servicing dealership and ask for reimbursement. Let us know how it turns out.
