To be perfectly honest, if Ford drops or starts screwing around with the Sport I’ll be changing brands again. Then again, my ‘21 Sport will still be under warranty in ‘29 — so motor on!

A different article had another take on this - previously Ford talked about a Maverick van option to be built on the same lines at the Hermosillo factory. That was recently cancelled when ford decided to build a $25k (starting price) SUV at that factory

The only logical assembly location for the Bronco Sport is Hermosillo. That facility is not maxed out, so additional vehicles based on the same platform would make sense.

I believe that Ford will keep the Bronco Sport in Hermosillo and add the new SUV to the line to assemble along with the Maverick truck.

The challenge for Ford is where to assemble new to market vehicles. Adding a new Bronco mid size truck to the existing full size Bronco/Ranger line makes sense along with a Lincoln version of the full size Bronco.

Adding a four door Mustang based sedan to the Flat Rock Mustang assembly line makes sense. This plant is very underutilized.

The Louisville EV assembly line will be all EV models based on the Long Beach design. Fathom, a small SUV, a small van and a possible 4 door sedan.

Like everything else in my life, I like it, I buy it, they discontinue it. Good thing is I hold onto my vehicles for 10 or more years and that is the plan for the Bronco.

The Bronco Sport has a measure of recognition and identity in a market sea of “me too” like compact SUVs. A lot if not most others in the market rather blend all together. And while taste can be quite subjective I find a lot of the imports are actually getting uglier—the new Santa Fe and 4Runner are examples. The ‘25 4Runner was an okay looking vehicle, but new ‘26 4Runner futzed with lines and proportions and just messed it up. The new Hyundai looks like crap.

The Bronco Sport is a winner for Ford, but sadly that doesn’t guarantee longevity. The Escape was popular and they still axed it rather than just update it. Meanwhile the way overpriced Mustang Mach E soldiers on.

I love my ‘24 BSBB and I hope the vehicle lives on in a forthcoming redesign/update that doesn’t lose the current identity.

The only thing I don't like about my 21 is the BIO oil pump system. Other than that everything about my Outer Banks is awesome. Big mistake to drop the line again. Now a new generation would be good. Constant refinement, new body lines, new tech is a good thing. I hope Ford goes this route. By 2029 I'll be needing a new car, probably the last one for me, I hope its a Ford.

oakvill in Ontario is down temprarly while they retool for all superduity production to be out of there. that will open up capacity in other plants once it is online

I would trade mine for a "real" maverick grabber. Old school 302. Wish they would swing in that direction again ! I had a 72' no mods and that car put most stangs of that year to shame.

Bronco Sport is not going away. This new ‘boxy’ crossover that Ford announced is an entry level vehicle to replace the Escape.

Oakville will supplement Super Duty production coming out of Kentucky Truck Assembly. Ford wants to build additional Super Duty vehicles to satisfy demand.

A truck assembly line will not be assembling smaller vehicles.

Lmao, my dad had a 72' grabber in the driveway, that he'd pick away at for years fixing up. I had hoped to drive it in high school, but he sold it, and years later I moved out to my first place on my own. As it turned out, my new neighbor had bought it and it was now in his driveway... so i got to stare at it for 4 more years before I moved off again.

I always liked that it was a 2 door coupe, with a bench seat, and orange interior. Not something you see anymore.

It's a shame I never got to see it completed.
