I only asked because I wondered if you saw this video......

I always felt a catch can wasn't worth installing. That guy seems to agree. There are a few guys here with over 100K miles without a catch can without issues.

Thanks for the link to the video!

The video results were pretty much what I expected.... Mostly I expended the $20 to see if there is any thing to this catch can thing, since it seems, when reading the thread, to be a popular mod.

The other pcv mod, related to this thread, that I have been considering is the "CFM performance baffled billet; CFM Baffled Billet Valve Cover Breather Kit for 2018-19 F-150 EcoBoost 2.7 "
which looks, initially, like a fancy pcv valve and a fancy filter... I haven't made up my mind yet but I might combine the two since the can provides a tiny (and therefor inefficient) expansion chamber to potentially slow the flow of blow by and allow the larger vapor droplets to drop out of the stream and/or impact the baffle plate and drip into the can and the CFM performance item seems very similar to one used on some Ford engines and would potentially vent, at least, part of any excess crankcase pressure...

My life is one long experiment; so far about one in 10 of the things that I try succeeds to a greater or lessor extent... Living in a cooler climate I have noticed, over the years, that occasionally water vapor condenses inside valve covers and if the can catches part of it it would likely be worth the trouble. ...so far I have never seen no heard of ice plugging a pcv line. But then I thought carburetor icing an unlikely problem until it happened to me.

Enjoy!

Got the wife added to the title and registration, added two years to the registration through April ā€˜28, and renewed both our licenses for another five years, adding that stupid RealID (which we’ll never need as a military retiree & dependent).

$116 all in for fees and one-time charges. Thank goodness I’m exempted from vehicle license tax, or it would’ve been more like $1300 for everything!

PCV freezing is definitely real. Some manufacturers even use heated PCV components to prevent it, depending on the specific design and how sensitive it is to freezing.

I’m envious — just paid $352 for one year reg on ā€˜21 BS. I refuse to get RealID on principle (I do have a passport for travel). One ā€œperkā€ to not having RealID is I can’t do jury duty, etc. as without it I can’t get into the courthouse <lmao>.

We get our vehicle registration free here, I go online to renew it every 2 years. We have to provide proof of insurance and thats it. No stickers but the police can check your plates for current registration without having to stop you. I keep my insurance certificate on my phone.

I took it to the car wash today because yesterday I took it out to the beach. The Yokohamas did pretty good on the small amount of loose sand I found. It felt a little more sure footed and I was able to drive out of the ruts a lot easier, but they weren't as deep as some I've been in.

I was surprised how much sand was left on the back of my BS after driving around town and an hour drive home on the highway.

This showed up a few minutes ago. Super clean, easy, and quick install. All tools included, along with spare parts. Well worth $50.

Vantrue E1 Pro. Not because it’s a great dashcam, but because it fits where and how I want. Waiting on a 6ā€, 90-degree USB-C cable to power from the dash ports.

Using the 3M VHB on the mount for now. We’ll see how it works and go from there.

Looks nice! I’m really considering a dash cam since I drive more for work. Since I don’t have power in that area, I may have to go with one that can run up into the headliner.

The cable routing was one of my many pain points. I’d also go with something that could tap into the mirror. This is a quick, low-cost alternative.
