Thanks, bud. You saved me like $50!No insulator or long stud required. You only need the cover and the 3 short studs.

The long stud is already there when you pull off the wire brace.I thought it's 4 studs - 3 short and one long? Doesn't it also need the insulation part that fits under the cover?
Yup. Confirmed. Just installed the cover and three short studs. Looks a whole lot better now.The long stud is already there when you pull off the wire brace.
Now they’re indoctrinating our kids to not expect engine covers!Since I was posting this in a different thread, let me share this highly accurate model of a big Bronco that you can find in the toy sections.

All the 2.0 BS's come with them. It's the 1.5s that got mysteriously removed at some point. This has probably been posted. I'm not reading 30+ pages? sorry.
Mine came with one but good news for you 2.0 owners.

540B is number 4, "Insulator", you dont need to buy this, it's already on the engine, under the wire and pipe rat's nest.
I have tried to buy the white stud, 957A from several sources, all have told me that it has been discontinued. If anybody finds a source or replacement, please post.
As for the white plastic stud, when I had tried to buy it online, at least 3 dealers told me it had been discontinued. This was before it was determined that it is already installed on the engine, so there is no need to order it even though it may become available. The insulator IS NOT under the wire and pipe rat's nest! It goes over it to keep the freaking foam engine cover from melting all over your engine! The 6a957 long plastic ball mount stud is available, but you might have to accept backorder status (it is available as of 11-15-21), but proceed and it will show up/or at least mine did! When one asks for the "engine cover", be sure to ask for the "engine cover assembly and all related parts to install correctly on my engine". Regrets for my posting incorrect information as to needing the insulator part. Thank you for getting me straight on that! I zoomed into the pics my daughter sent me and see the insulator clearly, and as you clearly know, is already there. Not to mention you bought one and already tried what I mistakenly thought necessary. RegardsAs for the white plastic stud, when I had tried to buy it online, at least 3 dealers told me it had been discontinued. As the original early poster about the missing engine cover, I bought the insulator. It is identical to the pre-installed insulator that is UNDER the wire & pipe rats nest. There is no room to install a second one between the top of the engine and the engine cover. Please back up your statements with pictures of the insulator installed on top of the wires & pipes. I really do think you should read this entire thread, it is quite educational as well as entertaining!
What you should do is take it in for its first service, then when you get it back ask what happened to your engine cover that was there before the service!Got mine the other day, no engine cover, probably going to bring that up when I get my first service

This actually did happen to me in a previous vehicle and I did get my engine cover back! What you should do is take it in for its first service, then when you get it back ask what happened to your engine cover that was there before the service!![]()
