I just crawled under my new 2025 Badlands Sasquatch and confimered what I feared, it has a GPF. I'm not sure when they started putting them in but mine is a 11/25 build according to the door sticker. Not the end of the world I don't think I'll miss that 12 HP but I'd have prefered one without it. This is not my photo but it indeed looks like this. About 50% longer than the a secondary cat and has the extra plumbing :frown: I'm in Oregon FYI.

Build Date isn't the determining factor; delivery state does. If you're in a CARB-compliant state, you get it; if not, you don't.

CARB-Compliant States:
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia

Thank god I live in Michigan. There’s basically no real rules here car wise…

Oh… besides window tint. 🤬🤬🤬

Pretty sure every state has some level of tint regulation. Some more severe than others, to be sure.

Ya, it never stopped me.

I’ve also got a prosthetic eye, and a prescription for tinted windows, too. I just don’t go obnoxiously dark, and I’ve been left alone except for one time in 20 years of having tinted windows.

I wonder if Canada doesn't require them?
I don't believe Canada has their own light duty regulations. I know they accept either EPA or CARB certifications. With that in mind, I'm pretty certain they would "accept" vehicles with or without GPFs and assume Ford would send non-GPF vehicles to Canada since they are not required there.

Extra plumbing is for the delta pressure sensor, so the system can determine if there is "too much soot" OR if it's clogged or someone tampered with it and removed the substrate. Agree that you probably won't miss the 12HP, but also agree it would have been nice to get one without - fewer parts = fewer problems, so thank your local government. :)

I used to go there a lot. In laws couldn’t believe all the stuff I had to do when I lived in Massachusetts.

AZ is not too bad. Because I live in a high air pollution area I have to do exhaust checks occasionally

We bought our BS/BB in NC which is not a carb compliant state, so ours should not have it.

Possibly but there’s really only one way to be sure and that’s getting under it.

I wish Ford was a little clearer about when and where they started adding these. It certainly wouldn’t have kept me from buying my Sasquatch. It would have been nice to know up front but I didn’t ask either.

AFAIK, it was:

a) only CARB-compliant state deliveries, and
b) started with MY 2025 1.5L Job 2 builds (sometime last January?) and MY2025 2.0L Job 3 builds (late June last year).

@rugedraw may have better insight.

You never know because Ford didnt qualify the hp cut for the BL, by where you are located. I thought maybe they hadnt received the gpf parts for early production.
