Hello, looking to add some extra under protection to my Badlands. I am leaning towards JCR skid plates but not sure which order to instal them? I can't do all at once so maybe one or two now then more next year. The options are:

-Evap and floor skid
-Gas Tank Skid
-Engine skid
-Front bumper bash plate
-Catalytic converter skid

I'm looking at putting some JCR skid plates in my OBX right now also. I just got back from Off-Rodeo in Moab, and if there was any rock striking, it was the front bumper and engine, so I'm going with the front bumper bash plate and engine skid plates first.

They probably haven't had any '25 "Guinee Pigs" yet to use as a template. Cheers!

Just curious how these compare to the Ford plates off the Black Diamond package. For the earlier years of BS, the BD Package was pretty much the plates and some decals. I wonder how they compare to just in price but in quality.

As far as I can tell from looking under my 25 BL it already has those skid plates. There is a space between the evap and gas tank where fuel lines run that could use something but from what Ive read cutting is involved to fit aftermarket skids.
The cat shield is just thin metal and it looks like something not to difficult to fab using existing as a template.
I have looked under the fabric cover that covers the evap skid and it should be easy to cover the fuel lines but securing to the underside Im not sure about.
I would like to see some sort of rock sliders that didnt involve purchasing unnecessary additional skids to mount.

My OBX has the Sasquatch package, not sure what would be different.

Older models it’s just felt. They over some protection and I’ve been good so far but want so better protection.

Older Badlands have 4 or 5 skid plates (depending on how owners like to count them)

Front skid plate: ~2.6 mm thick
LX61-5D032-BD FY4RD 083 21 Stamped on someone’s Badlands front metal skid plate

Fuel tank shields: ~2.5 mm thick

Secondary Catalytic Converter Skid (Primary cat is on turbo down tube, no skid needed)

Evap & Floor Skid (located above the drivers side felt liner)

Applicable to at least ‘21-‘22 Badlands (don’t know if Ford did decontenting for ‘23-‘25 Badlands skids

There’s YouTube videos of the underside of early Badlands depicting the provided protection

This is what my service tech sent me last year. Finally found them after searching a few days. They wouldn't let me go in to look myself so the pics aren't great. My felt is starting to sag. I've had quite a few hard knocks so was thinking the JCR would be better than what Ford put on. Would you disagree?

Unless something has changed with the JCR's, in the last year (?), I will point out, that they were not designed for the Badlands. They have been fitted by at least 2 people but I believe it requires cutting a factory skid plate, not an easy job and a number of holes must be drilled into the frame, as well. Also not easy.

As you know the, JCR set up, is as system of interconnected protective plates and as a whole is rather expensive, 3k+?, though you might not need/want all of them, some require others to be fitted beforehand.

You may what to seriously consider HRG's, Front and Mid-Skid plates as they are much cheaper and easier to install, though not as comprehensive as JCR's. The main advantage of the JCR's is the Rock sliders.

I have the HRG's

You should check some of the early posts, of those people who actually installed the JCR's, on their Badlands!
