So any idea what the 'interim software update' fix is supposed to do? If it degrades performance I will be pissed. Good job I lease is all I can say....

Issue could be over torquing them on the Line or just badly built Injectors . Makes me wonder what manufacturer made them . One would think they would be off the shelf Injectors, no ? There are six in the Dragon motor .

three direct injection, which are the ones I am suspecting have the issue, and three port injection which are not subjected to the pressure of temps the other ones are.

mine was already done when I went in for my service last week, I haven't noticed any difference in performance or fuel milage. the current one is to make sure software package XXXXXX_XXXX_XXXX has been installed, so you might already have it installed and not know about it, which was the case with mine as I have the Maintenace plan and it goes in every 5000 miles

I don't drive mine anymore the wife does. I just told her to let me know if you start smelling gas.
I gave it a good look over and everything seems ok. Now where did I put that spare fire extinguisher?
Good one, I’m sure she’ll be fine 😈

.3 % had a cracked fuel injector. It is possible those were just defective when produced. Mountain out of a mole hill.

When evaluating risk, 2 of the factors are 1) the chance of the adverse event happening and 2) the severity of the consequences.

So even if the chance is very small, when the result is serious there is significant concern.

From Google:

"Yes, at least eight Ford Bronco Sports (along with some Escapes) have caught fire due to cracked fuel injectors, which led to a July 2025 recall for approximately 694,000 vehicles. The issue involves fuel leaking onto hot engine parts, and Ford's recall remedy includes updated engine software, installing a fuel drain tube, and providing a dash warning for customers to seek service."

8 out of almost 700,000 is a pretty slim chance but for anyone having an engine fire it will be a very bad day (at best).

Although my '25 has the new MPC, aka Dragon B, engine, I park mine outside JIC.

Can anyone recommend an interior fire extinguisher and mount for the BS, preferably mounts to the seat bolts or rails without modifications?

I've read over on the 6g forum the Element extinguishers are the way to go.

I dropped off my '22 BS/OB today to have RDU replaced ( at 20K !!). I got a glimpse of dealer internal paperwork attached to my W/O. It is a sheet for the tech showing the particulars of my BS, and what recalls are pending and done...Top of the list....." replace fuel injectors " when parts avail.
If Ford is preparing to replace every injector in all 600K+ recalled vehicles .. the bottom line is going to take a hit.
Has anyone heard anything further about replacing the injectors?

That info can also be seen in PTS/OASIS which is Ford's dealer website. If you (or anyone) needs those or any other details, I am able to look them up.

@elvisimprsntr nice! Looks like you mounted on the driver side? I might have to get one. Cuz why not?
Can also be used as an improvised self defense tool. Too bad they don't make OC spray canisters that large, JIC you need to fend off a zombie attack.
