We are headed to NC on Wednesday. Looking forward to bringing back some Red Oak Brewing Amber and hopefully, Oaktoberfest!

Back here in Michigan, Yuengling will finally be available today. They were supposed to come in 2020, but you know COVID.

This area has ore then a dozen micro/craft breweries. Most are excellent, but not all.
Don't be shy about asking for a taste! Try as may as you like.
Sierr Nevada offer toe brewery tours. One is self guided, no explainations of what you're seeing. The guided tour is very good but you need a reservation. Their tap room/restaurant has good food.

Sipping on this special bottle, only 750 out there. I got tickets for me and a buddy to go down to the distillery last weekend where Sierra Nevada has this collab with St. George Spirits. We got unlimited beer pours, they had pale ale, hazy little thing, and the new pils lager on tap, and some tasting of this special collaboration whiskey, as well as Sierra Nevada barrel aged ruthless rye, St. George Spirits lot 24, and a Japanese style whiskey.

Got to meet the distillers as well as the owner of Sierra Nevada and his son. Who both signed my bottle.

Brought home two signed bottles of ruthless and one of the Japanese style.

The ruthless is hard to pin point on flavor. On one sip I get the light rye with some hops and just tastes reminiscent of the beer. On the next, cinnamon and almost minty, on the next coffee and caramel. It's a weird one.

The baller is definitely one of the best Japanese style whiskeys I've tried. But, going to focus on this one for now.

@Garth i bet after a few of those I'd be set for the night.

I enjoyed this Deftones collab from Belching Beaver while cleaning up the sport. Did a full detail today inside and out. Pic was before I started on glass. I chose it because of its gratuitus use of hops, including two of my favorite, citra and mosaic hops. It's only a 9% but super tasty, light and crushable. The can on this Imperial Phantom Bride is super cool with its details. The graphics are textured like a dollar bill or something. We were nearby the Belching Beaver brewery on our recent trip to San Diego but didn't have enough time to stop by. We did check check out Ballast Point while we were there, ive had their stuff before, but honestly they aren't my favorite and didn't bring any home. They were just within walking distance And on our route that day.

The hotel we stayed at heard it was our anniversary and went way out of their way to make our stay extra special. They gave us a bottle of white wine upon arrival and after a day out the concierge told us to check the refrigerator for a special gift.

Four 4 packs from another nearby local brewery. Again we didn't have enough time to check them out but I checked my bag coming home because I couldn't drink all these by myself lol.
So I'm enjoying North Park beer Co. Subatomic Saturation now on the couch. It's a 10% triple dry hopped triple IPA. Again with citra, citra dynaboost (whatever that is) and 5 other types of hops. Velvety texture but not just a "hazy" it's a savory hoppy experience to take your time with. Featuring: cat.

I limit it to one and its usually the last one. Although you can get it in quarts Ive only done so once.

To me, hoppy beers are like sucking alum. On top of that, I’m mildly allergic to hops, and two sips of an IPA (if I don’t puke first) will give me a screeching headache. To each his own, though.

Now offer me a nice chewy, malty Belgian ale, and I’m your BFF. Until the beer runs out, anyway.
