Our photographers just spied a new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport prototype testing in a different style of camouflage, providing a new perspective on the stance and ground clearance of the so-called Baby Bronco.
These new photos show the Bronco Sport without much of its heavy cladding. Instead, the black vinyl camouflage (mostly) sits directly over the naked sheetmetal, giving a more accurate feel for the overall package. More interesting than any styling hints that might be revealed (we’ve exposed a lot of that already), the new camouflage gives us a better sense of the front- and rear-bumper locations, and the resulting ground clearance and the approach- and departure-angles. We’re now left with a more promising sense of the kind of the terrain the Baby Bronco has been designed to handle.
At an investor meeting, a Ford executive showed a product planning blueprint that promised the Baby Bronco will be significantly more rugged than the urban-minded Escape, placing it surprisingly close to the Bronco on the image’s Urban-to-Rugged sliding scale. It is only a matter of months before we find out if this holds true.

Ford even scoured the photos for details before releasing them. No plates on ANY of the vehicles, driver window was down but no interior pics, street sign in the back is too blurred to make out. They're pretty much telling us to not forgot about the baby Bronco shortly before the regular Bronco comes out.
