The Ford Bronco Sport based unibody pickup named Maverick was spied testing. And it looks to be a proper sized small truck, like the old...
If you wan 3500 towing and AWD you HAVE to go midsized on up. This is SubCompact. Half the cars don’t even tow.
Ford Edge AWD 2.0 with towing package can hit 3500. All for less than $35,000
It is a bit strange because on the original escape you could get the v6 on almost every trim
Even the power outputs are similar on the 2.5 escape vs 1.5 sport and 3.0 escape vs 2.0 sport. So why limit the 2.0 on the top trim only?
No need for it at all unless the competition heats up. The 1.5L is on par with everything in the class ~180/190 pretty average.
2.0 SMOKES em. next most powerful sub crossover is the 2.5L CX30 with 185/185
I agree that the 2.0 should have been an option for OB but look at the 1.5 vs Jeep 2.4
it’s already ALMOST best in class with the 1.5... Mazda CX30 has a BIT more power
So this is what the new Bronco Sport is going up against.
pease note the VW Tiguan SWB and Toyota Corolla Cross are not currently available in the USA
only included dyno of Jeep as comparison because it had the most power and torque next to Ford
scheduling is when dealers submit their orders. so if you want to reserve and custom order your sport you have to do it before THAT day. Once the dealer sends In their order youll have to wait for dealer stock.
then Once all the dealers submit their orders ford has to go threw and figure out...
1.5 Ecoboost is right in line with top end engines in Jeep Compass Chevy trailblazer kia keltos... etc.
sync 3 because it’s the c2 platform that predates sync4 but you would think it would be on a new car. Maybe later
honda passport is in the Ford Edge class.
Honda HRV is bigger than the Ecosport and smaller than the Bronco Sport
CRV is Escape sized
Passport is Edge sized
Pilot is Explorer sized
The only true DIRECT competition to the Bronco Sport Include
FCA - Jeep Compass
GM - Chevy Trailblazer (Not Blazer)
Hyundai - Kia Seltos
Mazda - Mazda CX30
Mitsubishi - Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Others that are close but slightly different
Honda - Honda HRV (Smaller)
Toyota - Toyota CHR...
Ain’t never going to happen. The only new ford that has a n/A motor is the GT Mustang and 3.3 and 5.0 f-150 (which are their worst two selling gas motors)
Every thing else is hybrid or turbo.
And manuals are dead. Even the Ford Focus has it as an OPTION on the Focus ST. The 7speed auto is...
Via Fords Instagram, The Ford Bronco will be revealed on July 9th 2020.
No EXACT word on what will be revealed but there are 3 sets of tracks. (2 door, 4 door, Sport?)
IF the bronco Sport goes to Australia, South America and Europe I BET it will have a Diesel option.
Likely the 2.0/2.2 duratorque ~120hp 210lbft. Pretty much every other ford has an option for one.
