How is the engine not durable? The engine is going to be rougher because it doesn't have even number of cylinders to off set NVH, so its going to act differently.
Couple points you might be missing:
The 1.5L is to help meet CAFE requirements and yes, maybe push people into upgrading the Hybrid or 2.0L Ecoboost. I'm guessing the vast majority of customers won't even notice it that buy it.
As for the interior concerns-the materials are different in the US...
Thats either a wire or part of the headliner-there is no way this would have a removable roof-it would compromise the crash cell around the passengers. Its a unit body design, not Body on Frame like the BroncoBronco.
The Rivian skateboard is too expensive to use for a Bronco and also quite larger then the expected Bronco-its roughly the size of an 2020 Explorer.
Ford is doing a Lincoln based off it, most likely it will replace the Continental in name and shape.
The Explorer had other issues not related to the hybrid-the hybrid didn't launch til later in the summer/fall due to it being done in a separate building along with the PIU and some other models.
Actually that was hinted at months ago-Ford stated-we aren't going to be spending alot of money to advertise this and the pony in the grill was a huge hint.
