I realize this is an old thread, but hope someone will see it. We are new to this forum. We just purchased a 2024 Sport BB last week. We have a 2023 full-size Bronco and have used the engineering mode to adjust the fuel bias. While we are not ready to adjust the bias on the Sport, I wanted to see how the engineering mode looked on the Sport. I've tried and tried every permutation of the instructions in this thread and can not get it to go into engineering mode. I wonder if Ford has precluded it on the latest 2024 vehicles? I imagine they are not fond of owners using it. Otherwise, has anyone else tried entering engineering mode in the recent pass with success (or failure)? Thanks for any advice. Bruce

Just confirming you used these steps. I’ll try later today on my 2022 Badlands.

Engineering Test Mode

1. Hold the "OK" button on your steering wheel and start the car.
2. Hold the button until you see "Engineering Test Mode" in the center display (between speedo and tach), then release the "OK" button.
3. Press either of the up/down arrows until you see the AFE Bias page.
4. Press the "OK" button to enter edit mode, then use the up/down buttons to adjust the number.
5. When the number is set press the "OK" button to save it.
6. Shut off your car to exit Engineering Test Mode.

Here are other modes:

Diagnostics:

1. Ignition OFF.
2. Simultaneously press and hold the right side steering wheel OK button and press Ignition ON once. (Accessory mode)
NOTE: It may take up to 20 seconds for the system to enter diagnostics mode.
Scroll through the options on the cluster display (includes battery voltage, coolant temp, etc.). Will only show while keyed on in Accessory mode.
3. To exit the diagnostics, press the on/off button.

Bezel Diagnostics: Speaker Walkaround test
https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/speaker-walkaround-test-bezel-diagnostics.2889/
1. Ignition ON. (Accessory mode)
2. Operate the audio system in AM / FM mode.
Simultaneously press and hold the steering wheel SEEK UP and the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) SEEK UP buttons until the bezel diagnostics mode is entered. If supported, the Speaker Walk-Around Test begins and the display indicates each speaker as it is tested.
NOTE: It may take up to 20 seconds for the system to enter bezel diagnostics mode.
3. To exit the bezel diagnostics, press the on/off button or select "Exit Diagnostics."

Thanks for the reply to what I know is an old thread, Dude. Yes, those are the instructions I used. Additionally, some Ford model instructions say wait for all screens off, or some other variation. I've tried a couple dozen times. I also tried the above "Diagnostic" mode just now with no success. I also just tried our '23 full-size Bronco and it works fine - see pic. While I can certainly live without it, I would very much like to make the Sport tell the truth regarding MPG ? once I know the correct setting.

Thanks Mark. I know you started this thread way back when. I saw this video in doing my search. Altho it refers to a car with a key, at the end he mentions the push button which of course the 2024 Sport has. I've tried it by pushing the start button with the brake pedal pushed so the car starts and without the brake pedal pushed. No luck. I've tried every permutation I can think of without luck.

I hope someone who has been successful in the past will try it and see if it still works for their Sport. As I mentioned and showed in the pic, it does still work in our '23 full-size Bronco.

@BruceAZ ET Mode works on my ‘22 Badlands, used steps 1&2 in Post #32

For those that like to see their battery voltage displayed, I included a pic of that too…

Just in case others are following this... Dude and I live close in AZ. He was good enough to meet me and try his hand at getting my new 2024 Sport into Engineering Mode. He was not successful either using the same strokes he uses on his 2022. I sure wonder if Ford did something to either change the strokes necessary to get into this information or eliminate the ability completely.

I also wonder if there might be an issue with the battery. We know that certain features are disabled if the system deems the battery low on juice. Perhaps doing a BMS reset might help. Have you load tested your battery?

Just an FYI, Bruce had 70 miles on his new 2024 when I tried the ETM procedure.

I also cannot get into the engineering test mode now. When we first bought our 2024 Bronco Sport, I was able to get into it once just to make sure it works, and that was the only time. I have never been able to get into it since. I don't know if I accidentally locked a setting or what, but I was only able to do it once. My OCD bothers me because I'd like to adjust the mpg to an accurate reading.

BTW, every Ford I've owned since they started displaying the mpg readings, have all been optimistic by about 1.5-2 mpg. All of them.

Here is another incantation …

1. Start with the engine off, close the door,
wait 30+ seconds until all dash lights,
interior lights, and exterior lights are off.

2. Press and hold OK Button on the steering wheel and don't release it yet.

3. Push Start Button only (no brake pedal) to
turn on Accessory Mode.

4. Once the message "Full Accessory Power Active" appears, release the OK button, then quickly press the brake pedal and turn the engine on.

5. Engineering Test Mode appears instantly.

I have not load tested the battery, but we have only had the truck a week with a June manufacture date and the autorestart never goes off which I know happens if the system detects a weak battery. I just can't imagine it is the battery, but I will put it on a charger to assure it is fully charged and leave it on the charger during the test.
How do I do a BMS reset?

Battery Sensor Reset (Battery Management System (BMS) Reset):

When you install a new battery, reset the battery sensor by doing the following:

1. Switch ignition on, and leave the engine off.
Note: Complete Steps 2 & 3 within 10 seconds.
2. Flash the high beam headlamps five times, ending with the high beams off.
3. Press and release the brake pedal 3 times.
The battery warning lamp flashes 3 times to confirm that the reset is successful.

Just to update, I charged the battery fully then tried the normal sequence of presses and also tried the variation posted by Dude a couple posts above. Still nothing. More and more, I have to feel that Ford has done something to close this loophole.
Has anyone tried to adjust the fuel bias using Forscan? I have never used Forscan at all.
