Yes but how could you be sure something didn’t hit the moonroof at a point in time in the past without any apparent damage at that point in time and for whatever reason (bump, colder weather, hotter weather, etc) later in time at the moment you noticed the moonroof exploded for no reason?

But in any case I agree with you that Ford should cover that under warranty - Ford could not prove the moonroof did not explode for no reason just as you stated… do you plan to elevate the issue with Ford and to continue pursuing the fix to be made under warranty?

I do not believe you are the first this has happened to.

I do not believe you are the first this has happened to.
I have elevated it to Ford. They say they can’t override the determination of the local service department. Funny, the local service department made their initial determination without even looking at the vehicle.

I have elevated it to Ford. They say they can’t override the determination of the local service department. Funny, the local service department made their initial determination without even looking at the vehicle.
Ok. Did you next try to reach the Ford Regional Manager (the regional rep) for your area? You have a pretty strong case but I suppose Ford could see it as no evidence the moonroof self exploded.

Also was most of the moonroof glass shot up and away from your BS or did nearly all glass fall inside?

The glass did not break further until after I stopped and got those pictures. Then it began to crackle. It fully cracked up the whole glass but did not collapse. I had to press it out in order to be able to drive away. It basically fell apart at that point, except along the trim where it is still fully adhered.

I am 99% sure a service manager at your local dealership can tell you the name and phone number of the regional rep for your area

I see the pics you posted now … with those pics and some reasonable idea of the temperature, humidity, location, speed of the vehicle, and other pertinent facts at the time of occurrence can be provided to the regional rep to evaluate your case
