Seems easy enough to just push the button on the dash without going through the hassle of installing some wonky gadget into the system. But that's just me.

Yep.
If the gadget helped somehow with the battery issues, I'd probably install one.

Also when I asked my Honda service advisor about warranty issues installing the start/stop eliminator in my Ridgeline, he said no problem as long as we don't know it's there.

I could write same story as Larry. Dealer useless. More than useless, has lied to me.
I am nervous about installing trickle charger / battery tender in case it causes a problem.
My daily usage is minimal, and a few long trips. I have had my 2022 OB for 18 months. It worked fine when new in Feb, and worked all that first summer. It crapped out all winter. It has worked perfectly all this summer. I conclude the battery is borderline. Can't handle moderate winter weather. ( Maine type winters. ) Dealer refuses to install a new battery. Even if he did, what am I getting?
Bottom line...I will live with it. Last vehicle that dealer will sell me. So what does he gain?

Once again - I've written a book, but I hope you understand that I have tried to figure this out, and tried to trust Ford to help out, and have basically been told - no LITERALLY been told by the manager of the Service department - that if i'm not having any other issues, I should just drive it.
Please - somebody - tell me there is a solution for this.
Please do yourself a big favor and take your car to a different dealer. Not all dealerships are created equal. Some are actually run by really competent people, while others are run by...well...the kind of people you've been dealing with so far.

When in doubt, check what people are saying about a business - any business - on Google reviews. I specifically went out of my way to find a dealer that was further from my house because their ratings on Google were 4.8 out of 5, compared to the majority that are hovering around 4.2.

Speaking of start/stop. My wife's '23 HR-V EX-L doesn't have it but other Hondas do. Weird.

Some of you may have seen my battery issue post from a few months ago. I actually quit this forum because of the non-supportive remarks.
.I've either got a one of a kind electrical issue, or a known issue that people just don't know or care about.
i don't put a lot of miles on my BSOB. after 18 months I've barely got 6000 miles on it.
I noticed this issue about four months after I purchased it.
The "Start/Stop feature quit working first. I went to the manual, and YouTube, and finally this forum looking for a solution.
As it turns out, when the battery drops below some mysterious level, all kinds of things quit working, the most noticeable (if you use it) is the start/Stop feature.
I went to Ford Service, and the first answer I got was "Oh it won't work when the temp is less than 40 degrees. It happened to be about 35 degrees that day. This had been going on for well over a month in warmer weather, so I was not convinced. I had to take it in for a different issue, and asked them to check the battery, since I had started monitoring it, and it was dropping below 12 volts just sitting overnight. This time they said the battery was discharged and kept it for two days and the only thing on the service report was "Charged battery". It worked (for three days) and then it was back to features not working and I showing drops overnight. I brought it back in and asked them to check the alternator, or whatever charges these 21st century computerized nightmares. Their response was "The alternator's alright, it would show up on the report we run if it wasn't. They also claimed they tested the battery and it was good. The issue continued and I brought it in again for a window part that had been backordered and told them the voltage was still dropping. By chance - a specialist tech that travels to multple dealerships to deal with issues was there working on a different vehicle. He told the tech working on my car to run a level 2 battery diagnostic. It failed, and they installed a new battery. I thought the issue was finally resolved. Everything worked fine for about five weeks. I even quit running voltage checks because they seemed to be holding above 12 volts.
Then one day the Start/Stop failed and the issue was back. I charged the battery with my agm charger, and everything started working for a few days.
Then I didn't drive it for a couple of days, and I got a message that my BSOB had been put into Deep Sleep mode, and if I couldn't start it, I should call the Service department. It also went on to say that I could resolve the issue myself by going for a drive "REALLY" it actually says that.
So Your battery is going to drain in three days if you don't drive it, and you will have to go for an hour drive to charge it.
I'm not exaggerating that hour drive. I had to drive for nearly an hour before I stopped at a red light and the Start/stop worked. This is crazy stuff.
Once again - I've written a book, but I hope you understand that I have tried to figure this out, and tried to trust Ford to help out, and have basically been told - no LITERALLY been told by the manager of the Service department - that if i'm not having any other issues, I should just drive it.

I had similar issues in April this year. I took it in to dealer they kept it 2 days, cleared all my error codes and told me that the batter checked out. I got it back on a Friday. Saturday it sat in garage and then went to crank it Sunday and the battery was DEAD. I went to Autozone and bought a Optima gel cell battery for $400.Monday morning I returned to the service Dept with my dead battery and my receipt. It took about 4 weeks, but I was reimbursed the full $407. Since then, it’s running like a dream.

I'm glad to hear that you resolved your issue with a non-Ford replacement battery.
I've been tempted to do exactly that, but I haven't had a completely dead battery yet, so I've been hesitating.
Based on other responder's experiences (other than yours), I'm on the fence about whether a replacement would solve my issue. And I'm amazed that you got reimbursed. I figure if I do it, it will be out of pocket, and I still don't know about the computer needing to be updated for the new battery. Did you put the battery in, or did you have someone do it, and did you have to let your Bronco know you put a new battery in it.

Since it was dead in the garage, we took the battery out and put new one in. It is a PAIN to remove. Had to watch a YouTube video. It’s not like a normal unhook the battery cables and lift out. You have to remove another part or 2 to get battery out.
I was very lucky to have just had it in the shop. I’m very stubborn and was determined Ford was going to replace battery. That doesn’t mean they made it easy to get reimbursed. The parts manager was very unfriendly and tried to blow me off. She thought for sure i had returned my old battery for core. She was wrong. Since it had died on a Sunday when they were not open she couldn’t answer my question of what else to do. She also told that their batteries are $100 and I wouldn’t get reimbursed for the full amount. She was wrong again.
Once the new battery was put in there was no walk through or setting up with Bronco. It started right up and all presets were still in place. Good luck!

Soooo - I'm not sure how this thread got converted to a Auto Stop/Start debate.
I use mine, or I don't use it. The Auto Stop/Start has "Zero" to do with the battery issue.
"BUT" - it is a symptom, and it's the earliest indicator that the battery is losing charge.
It's the sneeze that indicates You're probably getting a cold.
I read that comprehensive list of all the conditions that must be met for Stop/Start to work.
Of course I can check the brake vacuum when it quits working-NOT.
What is acceptable cabin temperature. Never mind. I can guess your answer.
What is acceptable ambient temperature - when the battery is fully charged it has worked on the coldest days.
Yes _ I'm being inane about this but every item I mentioned either cannot be checked while you're driving, or is not tracked so a tech can see what conditions were or weren't being met.
Actually I use my Start/Stop a lot more than I would have, if I didn't have the battery issues, because it's the first most obvious sign that the battery is not optimum.
AND - from experience, now, after numerous visits, and a replaced battery, I know that when the start/stop quits working the battery needs to be charged.
And as for some of the conditions - - - the day after I charge the battery, stop/start works whether the coolant is warm, the cabin is comfortable, or the outside temperature is freezing.
I've never attempted to check brake vacuum, but I'm pretty sure the battery has nothing to do with brake vacuum. And all of the other conditions they felt it necessary to include. When you're driving the car is in drive. When you stop you put your foot on the brake. Normally you have the door closed when You're driving, and I don't play with the steering wheel while I'm stopped.
I gave in and bought a maintenance charger, and every three or four days I connect it and let it run overnight. And as I mentioned in my original post, I didn't buy a hybrid, or electric vehicle. Why do I have to plug it in twice a week for the amenities to work.
I can fairly easily afford a $400 gel battery like one responder said solved hi problem, but there are a lot better things I could do with $400, than gamble that a vehicle that can't be fixed under warranty is going to magically work with an expensive battery transplant.

I've somewhat leaned towards Ford's most of my driving life, and this is actually my third Bronco.
Ford's motto used to be "Quality is Job 1". I'm not sure what their new motto is, but I'm guessing it's "We still make pretty cars, but don't expect quality".
