Got this neat little part that fell out during my changing of the oil. Any ideas? I checked the wipers, hood latch, parking brake and all appear to function properly. Only thing I can think is it is the headlight cog that steers the headlights during turns. Haven't checked that yet. Have an appointment with the dealer as it is in warranty but just curious.

Fords come with extra parts so it's very common to just see parts laying under your car.

That's what the dealer is going to tell you.

I think the respective fog lights on each side of the car turn on when steering at night that help you see around the corner as you turn, but there aren't any moving parts that mechanically turn or rotate any lights.

It might be an adjuster for the headlights, the manual version.

I don't have a clue what it is, but mine is MISSING, and I am upset about it!!!

1st a missing engine cover then a missing panel under the dash and now a missing white thing-a-ma-bob that falls out during oil changes. Inconceivable........My wife's BS OB is missing a lot of parts and I am really upset about it!?!

It looks like a key gear. Operates kinda like a keystone in an archway. Keeps the whole thing together!

at least it being a plastic part, hopefully it’s an annoyance thing that gets thrown outs wack and not something critical. I saw where someone talked about the adjustment part for the lights, that does make sense. I never really looked close at mine.
