Got Beefy back from the dealership after some paint correction (most of the pics don't show much), but also got some OEM rubber seatbacks from a seller on eBay. Brand new, easy install, maybe just a bit of double sided tape and they look amazing.

I did truck stuff again! Man, the Sport is such a capable little vehicle. Hauled 650 pounds of bagged gravel last weekend, all this wood to build a front facing gated fence today. If you're curious, 8 foot boards can fit with the liftgate closed.

Today: Installed Diode Dynamics LED backup lights and Taillights. Those trim pieces were difficult to pull off and so were the taillight assemblies. And then the bulb sockets were very difficult to turn to remove the bulbs. Get mad, get the adrenaline running and there you go!

Yesterday, I had my local Ford dealer install Ford mud flaps. They screwed it up. They had never installed mud flaps before and went online to get instructions from Ford. That's good that the tech realized his limitations. However, the service tech put one of the rear mud flaps on the front. :crying:
Realizing his mistake only after drilling 2 unnecessary holes in the fender and fender trim, he corrected his mistake and installed them properly. I have an appointment on Monday for them to replace the fender trim. No charge of course, and no compensation for my time and inconvenience. It better not show up on Carfax as body damage either.

I'm trying to remain calm. If the service tech had looked up the part numbers on the bags he would have seen which pair were for the front and which were for the rear.
They previously struggled with installing the keypad on the door, which delayed my new car delivery by a day. Ford allows the dealers 1-1/2 hours for that install and they take 3-4 hours or more. They had already done the paperwork on my trade-in, and so effectively, I had no car until the next day.
And now they mess up the simplest possible dealer installed option. In younger days, I've installed mud flaps on my cars by myself. I didn't want to make an "I've fallen and can't get up" commercial and decided to have the dealer install the mudflaps.

On that last topic, it's not always broken hips or legs or ankles that prevent someone from getting up off the ground. Weak quadriceps , back injuries, knee injuries, or high or low blood pressure can also make that difficult.

The punchline for the service visit to install the mudflaps: Before I left the dealership, the service manager had the gall to insist that I give them a 5 star rating (out of 5) on the service. I did give them a 5 star rating - 5 star out of 10 and that was being very generous! Then I got a phone call this morning, a text and an email asking for 5 star ratings (out of 5).
I've painted the drilled holes to prevent future rusting. They put a plastic plug in one hole and a screw in the other. I guess that they couldn't find 2 plastic plugs.

I don't get why those splash guards or mud flaps are so expensive. I want to say Honda's were less than $100 for all 4. Ford is charging $300 per axle.

I bought some accessories! Well, I got them free with Ford points. I bought it an ESP that gave me the points lol.

REAR SUNVISOR, OWNER'S MANUAL, KEY FOB COVER, KEY COVER & CARGO ORGANIZER KIT - $169.

I didn't take any pictures since there's already a post about this. I really wanted this for the owner's manual cover and the cargo organizer. Overall, the quality of both seem very good. I didn't bother with the key fob and key covers. The rear sun visor straps seem like they could break. I feel it may fit better on a big Bronco (I haven't tried this but the fit seems a bit off). There's not much room to put anything in the molle straps on it. I put in a park pamphlet into one of the zipper pockets. I'll put my insurance card into another one.

FIRST AID SAFETY KIT - $49

I try to keep one in my cars. I've only needed it once in the last 25 years. Here's a stock image of what it comes with along with a couple of actual pictures. It's smaller than I thought but seems like it holds enough for basic safety. At work, we watch a somewhat basic stop the bleed video and that makes me want to add a tourniquet, just in case.

It has molle straps on the back. I'm thinking of adding it to either the the top right behind the passenger seat or onto the cargo organizer. I haven't set that up and don't know if I'll keep it opened or closed all the time. I have a Rubbermaid tote where I keep all my stuff in the back so I really don't have anything to put in it now. Maybe a gallon of coolant since Ford didn't find any leaks.

Mod of the day - the requisite Tailgate Pony. WeatherTech floor liners arrive tomorrow.
