Ironically Ford setup up the tracking system to offload the sales people at dealerships by giving the customer the information directly. Boy, did that go sideways.

I don't actually know for a fact, just going by what I was told and by perception of the system. In non-COVID times it may have worked very well.

I saw that the average speed per days is around 28 mph

4 weeks seems to be a reasonable average from what I can tell. Biggest wildcard seems to be the trucking from the hub to your dealer.

For sure. I spoke to a different dealership and they said it can take up to 2 weeks to have it delivered from the railyard to the dealership. We have a shortage of truck drivers.

Well I'm hoping since mine is being unloaded at the big bronco plant in Michigan.. that they are moving them more often... But who really knows

Order tracker says mine is In Transit as of yesterday. The Ford tracker hasn't worked in days so not sure what it says. I will also be going up the coast to BC.

Hate to burst your bubble but... they go through Chicago, up through Emerson MB, then across the country via AB to YVR. Mine took about 8 weeks with highway closures in BC in late '21. Count on a 6 week journey at a minimum.

I think you are spot on. For a handful of retail orders a month the system would be fine and could absorb the extra attention demanded by those of us with control issues. It is wholly inadequate if 75% of a dealership's sales are retail orders.

I wonder if the amount of information provided by the Ford tracker is adequate for most customers. Perhaps in normal times where scheduling took a couple of weeks, production began within a month of that, and delivery was 2-3 weeks after release the default information would be enough even for someone like me. The great quantity of unknows is what has been maddening for me in the process so far. I'm a production controller in my job, so knowing what, when, where, and why are always vital data. "Eh, whenever" doesn't work for me.

Maybe that's how they cross the Columbia river . I don't see any way across the river by rail

Seeing just one day of time between the factory and Nogales warms my heart. Mine will offload in Nogales (or Tucson if there's a stop there?) and take a truck just an hour and a half away to my dealership. How long that truck takes to pick it up will be the real mystery.
