Quick question and sorry if this has been posted somewhere else - does the odometer need to be recalibrated for the 245's? Or should it be? Thanks!

Only if you want it to be correct. It’s more the diameter than the width, but if the ratio is the same (65), the 245’s will be slightly larger in diameter.

Makes sense - thank you!

Marceline @bronc0mad has 245/70/17's on his Badlands. I think they look great and it seems he's having no issues with rubbing etc. Anyone have any thoughts on 70's?

The 70's will rub. Not all the time and not every day, but with the wheel turned and the suspension compressed, they will rub. That is not limited to trails/offroad either. If you are turning and encounter a bump, it could cause a rub. There are some that have modified the pinch weld to alleviate the rub but that pinch weld is part of the structure/frame of the vehicle. We don't know how much that modification weakens the structure.

Great input - thanks Meanderthal.

Yes, and your felt liner won’t do you any favors either. If you aren’t going off road and fully utilizing your suspension, you are probably fine but, as Eric has said many times already, 245/65 is the safest way to go. And no, adding a lift on the BS doesnt change the problem.

Few pics from one of our trips this summer. Had no issues on the overgrown, unmaintained, and untraveled norther trails. Definitely put the Bronco through the paces and had no issues or reservations about it's abilities once. Tires were very good. Probably the best all-round tires I've ever used tbh, highly recommended.

Just got back from tire shop and went with the Falken Wildpeak AT3W's, at 245/65/17. Also bought the ODBLink EX and a small Window's laptop to attempt and change the tire size in the ECU (I'll report back later on the results). I did have to remove the liner (as someone here suggested) to get the spare to fit, but it did. Just barely.

I took a measurement yesterday of the space between the flange (?) and the front tire on the stock Pirelli 225's, which came in at 2". And today on the Falken 245's Its 1.5". Half-inch difference from the 225's to 245's, so seemingly no big difference. Don't have any load on it other than the RTT nor have I really taken it off-road yet, so haven't put it through the paces.

Lastly, there seems to be decent amount of room in the wheel wells, between the tire and felt. Not sure if the '22 Badlands are different than 21's, but no issue there.

Will report back if any of that changes.

Hi. What would happen if I buy only 4 tires 245 and leave the original spare tire (225)? Could I use it in case of need without problems?
