For $40, Ford will send you a physical USB stick with the files pre-loaded. Plug-and-play. Some people have difficulty formatting their USB stick and dropping the downloaded files in the proper location. The maps are 12 GB, too, so some people don't want to download these files. Takes about 3 seconds to format a USB stick. It takes about 1 second to drop the files onto that stick. However, it probably will take an hour or so to download 12 GB, unless you're on a corporate-level internet plan. But, again, there are many people who don't want to fiddle around with formatting and moving files around.
