That’s where mine landed as wellHello All,
I just went out to put an EZ-Pass tag on my wife's Bronco Sport Heritage. The best place I could find is centered on the plastic housing behind the rear view mirror. Is this OK or is there a better spot? I think this is a sensor bank. that is why I ask.
I found a picture online of a tag in the place that I mentioned above.
thanks

Fortunately for me at least is the I-pass does not include any color coded tags on the back. Also the I-pass transponders are not affected by plastic only by metal.A neat solution, but the E-ZPass authorities tend to word pretty strongly that the velcro strips are the only approved solution. I believe this is for two reasons:
1. The plastic technically creates a barrier between the E-ZPass tag and the windshield/RFID reader outside
2. Having the tag mount via velcro strips means that, if they review a tag not read, they can see the white tag on the windshield and validate that it's a proper class (E-Zpass tags for commuter vehicles are white, E-Zpass commercial tags are blue, orange E-ZPass' are issued to emergency vehicles & the MTA/PANYNJ/NYSTA, green E-ZPass' are issued to certain low and zero emission vehicles.) If they see a black spot on a windshield #1 it's harder to see, #2 it could be a dashcam or radar detector, etc. and isn't obviously a toll tag.
Personally for me I'd be more annoyed by the little rings that suction cups leave on the windshield surface vs. just having the base two velcro strips remain on the windshield for easy mounting/unmounting and moving between vehicles (it also helps that, when mounted properly, neither the tag or the windshield strips are visible...)
Another +1. Same location on my wife's BB.I put mine to the right side

3D printing FTW!I designed and 3D printed out one that I could just stick to the window on the few occasions I use it. Bought some plastic suction cup feet and they fit in the key holes and the velcro goes on the inside. Allows me to easily switch vehicles and keep in the glove box when not using,

I already have a problem with the fact that the mirror and sensor cluster completely blocks my view toward the passenger side, making me duck my head to look under it. That's my own issue, though. The other reason that spot didn't work for me is that I installed my dash cam on the mirror arm (photo was taken before I ran the cable in the headliner)Hello All,

I'm not aware of a metallic coating in the windshield of the BS and can't find anything to support it having it, but in terms of nedap uPass stickers, these are instructions with the recommended mounting locations. If you have a metallic windshield, they basically recommend to put it below the rearview mirror; if you don't, either that location or a couple rectangular blocks on the windshield upper portion, at least 2.5 inches from the top of the windshield and no more than 6 inches below it, and at least 12 inches from either A pillar/sides of the windshield. Also at least 12 inches from any other AVI transponder like a toll tag.Our E-ZPass is mounted next to the bank of sensors behind the rearview mirror and has worked fine from day one. However, we use these stick-on windshield tags for entering and exiting our parking garage at home, and we've been having intermittent trouble with the one that permits exit from the garage. Does anyone know if Ford windshields have a metallic coating that could be interfering with the signal? The transponder works fine for getting into the garage (and through the interior gate to the residential area of the garage) but there's just one sensor that gives us constant trouble. You have to move the sticker around to get it to work most times. It's this type of sticker:

Thanks, this is very helpful because the parking management company clearly is unaware of this information. They instructed everyone to put it in the far upper corner of the driver's side. Fortunately I've affixed it with a little piece of packing tape so it can be moved around. I will try moving it over to see if it makes a difference.I'm not aware of a metallic coating in the windshield of the BS and can't find anything to support it having it, but in terms of nedap uPass stickers, these are instructions with the recommended mounting locations.
