Redline Hood Struts

The most ridiculously easy most satisfying mod. I'll take an easy job any day....
hec, all I do is problem solve everyday.
I went to put these on my Bronco today and they are super easy, well packed, great instructions and they really work well.
Hardware is nicely painted, fit exactly as described, and the struts snapped right in.
Yeah - I'll take easy when I can get it.
Funny how such a simple mod for the hood makes you feel like your Bronco just went up a notch.

The Redlines eliminate the need for the manual rod, and also open the hood to a higher angle allowing greater and easier access if you are working under the hood.

how to make an easy install into a nightmare

The hood holes are slightly bigger than the blind nuts, so they like to spin if you’re not careful. The one on the driver’s side didn’t seat right and popped out while driving after my initial install.

When I went to reinstall it, I managed to drop the blind nut inside the hood. It’s aluminum, so a magnet was useless to fish it out. After about an hour of fishing with a wire and some super-sticky Gorilla tape, I finally got it out.

Lesson learned: make sure the blind nuts are fully seated, and whatever you do don't be an idiot like me and drop one inside the hood.

Oh man! That’s gotta be annoying! Could you hear it rattling while driving? That would drive me insane.

I installed mine on my lunch break over the summer. But I definitely agree with you, gotta be very careful with the install.

One of my top three modifications I’ve made, I hate hood props. They’re always in the way.

Oh man! That’s gotta be annoying! Can you hear it rattling while driving? That would drive me insane.

You could hear it sliding around just opening and closing the hood. I droped it in on the second install so I never drove with it in there. I'm still sort of amazed I was able to get it out. It didn't help that it was 37 degrees out. cold tape isn't very sticky.
